Greetings dear friends, welcome to my blog. Today I am once again joining the weekly contest Qurator's: Hive Top Chef! | Crispy. It's time to eat something crunchy, so I decided to prepare a delicious and simple dish with seafood for this contest organized by #qurator, it's battered squid and shrimp. I prepared them the traditional way, dredging them in flour, egg and breadcrumbs. There are other ways to breading and achieve a crunchy consistency, but this is my favorite version, which my mother always prepared at home, and the best thing is the result, because the taste is unparalleled, simply exquisite.

Ingredients

  • 55 grams of clean squid
  • 32 grs of peeled and cleaned shrimp
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons leavening wheat flour
  • 4 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • Frying oil, 4 tablespoons of soybean oil
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

1.-. Wash the squid, dry them well with absorbent paper, this step is important to prevent the breading from coming off during cooking. Then, we cut it into rings of approximately 1 cm.

2.-. We also dry the shrimp a little and then season them together with the squid with salt to taste.

3.-. In a frying pan preheat about 4 tablespoons of soybean oil. To achieve a crispy consistency the oil should be very hot.

4.- We beat the egg and organize the breading ingredients.

5.- We start the breading, first the shrimps, dip them in flour, then in the beaten egg and finally in the bread crumbs. Then, we fry them for two minutes, one minute on each side, at that time they will be well cooked, golden and crunchy. Remove them from the fire and place them on absorbent paper to remove excess fat. Repeat the same procedure with the squid, but the cooking time will be 3 minutes, 1.5 minutes on each side..

Serve this delicious crunchy dish to enjoy on its own with lemon or in a crispy hamburger.
