When I think about travelling I think about freedom. I think about taking a pause in my routine life and actually living in the moment, not caring about deadlines, meetings, scheduled calls and the rest just basically living in the moment and making memories.

Over the years I’ve been privileged to travel to different wonderful places and all the places I have visited are amazing and unique in their own way and most of these trips all left me with a different view of life entirely. Worthy of note is my trip to my country’s capital.

I have been to my country’s capital a few times but my last trip there was a memorable one. You know when you travel to a certain place and you don’t just want to come back? That’s exactly how I felt when I traveled down there.

I guess it wasn’t just the city that made me enjoy my trip but the people I met there. My cousins played a huge role in making me enjoy my stay in the city and my friends weren’t out of the equation as they also played their part in making sure I had a swell time in their city.

I was opportune to go to so many places and participated in a lot of fun activities and while I enjoyed every bit of my holiday I prayed for the days to go by slowly so I don’t get to return back to work but did this happen no, the days flew by so fast that one moment I was living the best time of my life and the next minute I was on my way back home, sad right? I know life ain’t fair.

I met so many interesting people, from boarding to arriving back in my city. This trip of mine was fun-packed that if I had my way to freeze time just to enjoy every bit of the adventure I’d do it without batting an eyelash

While I have had so many adventurous trips I’ve had to embark on some crazy journeys that I still regret today.

From boarding the bus to arriving at the bus park was hectic and I kept regretting all the way down to my destination.

My annoyance started with me hating my seat on the bus. It wasn’t comfortable and there was nothing the transport company could do because according to them I had already booked my ticket weeks ago and they had a no refund policy.

Upon getting to the city I discovered they had bad water and for someone like me who is easily irritated it was just too much for me to handle, to top it all, these people are so tribalistic that you need to know how to speak their language to be able to buy stuff and run some errands.

I just couldn’t wait to leave but I had to stay for a few weeks because it was a business trip, the more I stayed in the city the angrier I became.
When I finally left I just couldn’t contain my happiness.

In all, I am so grateful for all the experiences and adventures I’ve had to experience in the various places I have traveled to and I wouldn’t trade them for anything else.

This is my participation in the November Inleo contest, to know more about it you can check here.
