you know what raising children is more fun when you are doing it the right way like our brain chase that reward dopamine so just stay working on that path
but some of the parents would rather punish kids and put that fear inside their head from the childhood which will haunt them forever in the adulthood and so on.
We should set some limits and ways to make sure kids are getting rewarded more often for whatever they do except the bad thing that could spoil them.
Punishment doesn't work like best
The only time you get punished is when you've did something wrong and have messed up with someone or something.
Didn't follow up the home protocol and could be anything so getting punished in that case is quite a norm thing in families where kids are.
I've been raised in a strict family and have got punishments all the time because I was quite stubborn and used to be annoying as well
So whenever I made a mess out of something I was punished for it one way or another, doesn't mean it has to be getting spanked
But resulting in not using the computer and no games or completely grounded for days to come.
That was quite frustrating for me like I know I'm getting punished and it was frustrating and I was annoyed because of that. Kinda made me feel less of a confident person and at times I used to be so mad about it.
Sometimes you'd get the PTSD for doing something that would lead to punishments like you're absolutely not gonna do something to get treated like that again.
Rewarding would make you perfectionist
when you're growing up and getting rewarded for the things you do in life, every little thing like imagine getting snacks after doing the homework
You'd instantly get the motivation to do the work again to get rewarded next time.
Everytime when you're getting praised by your parents while you were kid, it made you happy and you wanted to do it again just to hear that again, not sure about you but it has always been like this in my case
Everytime when I was rewarded I just knew I'm supposed to do it better next time and it makes you become the perfectionist, that'll go ahead and you'll find yourself always competing with others because you are chasing that reward and action you're taking will lead to those reward only when you're perfect at it.
So I believe we should reward kids on every little good thing they do and some people would say this is spoiling a kid but it isn't, you're suppose to reward in a limit, the smaller the task, the smaller reward but the bigger task leading to bigger rewards
In my case I remember getting second position one and was rewarded one wish that was a parrot as a pet
But the next I was told if I got first I'd get my first pc and I did that next year. So that's how it works, punishing only deminish child confidence and leaves the scar for years to come. It is better to be rewarding and kind while parenting. Wonder what's your thoughts about it. Do share in the comments.
that's all folks.
