When I was a teen I believed we live in a world where we have democracy and we get to choose who is going to be our leader and decide the fate of country, our votes matter.

But now after becoming mature in these couple of years my views about democracy changed. Once I used to think "people who say democracy isn't real or doesn't exist are just conspiracy theorists" but after witnessing it myself living in pakistan, I know this "democracy is nothing but an illusion, the invisible hand makes all decisions for us".

I heard a lot that US is actually behind a lot of government that's formed whether it is in developed or developing nation US has the power to flip the tables and make a leader by their own choice.

The thing is people believed the lie politicians used to tell that America is controlling this country like some puppet.

But I myself have seen US can't even make their own country decision how the hell are they controlling any country? It made sense when US had that power like before they lost to Taliban but now Nah, it can't be US but something else. Nowadays no one take US seriously but as a joke like "Oh, your country discovered Oil? Let's give you some democracy. Haha, trolls.

Now even American think they don't have democracy, basically an average Joe thinks Jews are behind everything and they're the one who are "invisible hand" controlling everything.

It is true to some extent that Jews actually have that power in today's world to control things the way they want and can't just ignore it since it's reality but in my country our democracy is stolen by "army officials" not Jews or US but our own so called protectors are behind the downfall of this country.

People are Waking up to truth that there's no democracy

Let's take Pakistan back like 4-5 years everyone was so in love with army and thought they're sacrificing their life on borders fighting terrorism against Taliban or protecting border from India, Iran and whole country sleeps peacefully because they're awake.

Now majority of people are pissed off because of army and majority believes they're the one bringing this and that politician as a face of government while they're the one pulling strings

And this country is nothing but under dictatorship.

You can't protest, cuz you'll eventually be arrested, can't say anything against government or army on internet (they'll abduct you), can't use social media properly, internet down causing issues for freelancer, you'll have to pay bills but they won't pay taxes and their bills are zero or with discount, citizen are nothing more than sheep's according to them.

How people have realised this?

This year election and everything that happened so far in this country has exposed army "generals" so badly like now they're abducting everyone they can who are speaking against them. (Nah I'm not scared).

First establishment aka army made a government, bought back good old thieves on their terms and accused ex prime minister by making tons of cases and putting behind the bars.

But another thing that always made me question army was "after retirement, generals are eventually chairman, CEO or such big seats in every single department.

They've occupied every city like they won some war and won a part of country where they're living lavish lifestyle one army officer can only dream.

Also seeing chief of army and others interfering in politics like all the time, basically our army is doing everything other than what army is actually supposed to do.

It's a business for them, they're running companies, they have industries, colonies, available on rent to give security like last football world cup in Qatar they were protecting there etc etc.

Most people in my country say elections were rigged by the establishment and now everyone knows their vote means nothing as theirs no democracy.

We lost a part of country back in 1971 when people elected someone but army refused to give power to them and said they're fine giving up a part of country instead of giving up power.

And now again that history is repeating when army is so desperate to stay in the power they're doing very possible things like banning X to censoring internet spending billions etc etc and still trying to do everything to win people heart.

Wrapping Up...

the thing is something is wrong with this word "democracy" because every government goes to extent that makes you believe everything is wrong with the democracy.

I'm not sure how it's like in your country and would love to know what's your thoughts about democracy seeing hows the ongoing situation in your own country, do share about it in the comments.
