Water, they said, it's sweet in the cup, my experience to Opukalama wasn't that sweet using canoe. I love exploring, I love trying new things and probably visiting new, I love adventure. Touring with canoe offers a serene and adventurous experience, it was a unique and exciting moments exploring waterways, enjoying amazing nature while connecting with the outdoors.
Visiting Opukalama was an experience I can't forget in a hurry, Opukalama is riverine community of Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state in Nigeria, It's actually situated near the village of Opobo and Egwanga, it has a beautiful landmark very notable one, surrounded by rivers and a lot of people go there for fish business, of course that's where Ibom Power Plant is situated, a significant power station that generates electricity for the national grid for the whole of Nigeria.
But there's something about that water traveling or tour, it was a beautiful sight to the eye and amazing to behold but extremely afraid to use the the canoe, it was my first canoe trip ever, I've never experienced such before, it was as if the boat will subside, I was busy shouting and promising myself that if I landed safely, I will not ever try exploring water anymore but while others who have had experience was laughing at me but at the same time, it was amazing one, I could feel the the fresh air, the water waves and cloudy nature surrounding waters.
I saw a lot of fisher men fishing and I was surprised at the level of risk they took to supply us with fish, imagine them on a tiny canoe in the midst of the sea, the wind, the wave and the breeze was all upon them but they never give up. The scenic view of the river brings back memories, enjoying the breathtaking views river's landscapes reminds a lot about how beautiful nature has been. Indeed, I was trying to observe wildlife habitat as we pause at a certain location and came down to view the environment.

El agua, decían, es dulce en la taza, pero mi experiencia en Opukalama no fue tan dulce usando la canoa. Me encanta explorar, me encanta probar cosas nuevas y probablemente visitar lugares nuevos, me encanta la aventura. Recorrer en canoa ofrece una experiencia serena y aventurera, fueron momentos únicos y emocionantes explorando los cursos de agua, disfrutando de la increíble naturaleza mientras conectaba con el aire libre.
Visitar Opukalama fue una experiencia que no olvidaré fácilmente. Opukalama es una comunidad ribereña del área de gobierno local de Ikot Abasi, en el estado de Akwa Ibom, Nigeria. Pero hay algo sobre ese viaje acuático o excursión, era una vista preciosa y sorprendente, pero me daba mucho miedo usar la canoa, era mi primer viaje en canoa, Nunca había experimentado algo así antes, era como si el bote fuera a hundirse, estaba ocupado gritando y prometiéndome a mí mismo que si llegaba sano y salvo, nunca más intentaría explorar el agua, pero mientras otros que tenían experiencia se reían de mí, al mismo tiempo, fue increíble, podía sentir el aire fresco, las olas del agua y la naturaleza nublada que rodeaba las aguas.
Vi a muchos pescadores pescando y me sorprendió el nivel de riesgo que asumían para abastecernos de pescado. Imagínate a esos hombres en una pequeña canoa en medio del mar, expuestos al viento, las olas y la brisa, pero sin rendirse nunca. Las vistas panorámicas del río me traen recuerdos. Disfrutar de las impresionantes vistas del paisaje fluvial me recuerda lo hermosa que es la naturaleza. De hecho, intenté observar el hábitat de la fauna mientras hacíamos una pausa en un lugar determinado y bajábamos para ver el entorno.
