Soy una especie de nostálgica por naturaleza, por lo que siempre llama mi atención ver animes que ya tienen sus años, que por un motivo u otro no pude terminar de ver en su momento o porque simplemente no los vi a tiempo, por lo que me cuesta mucho darle la oportunidad a un anime nuevo, además soy ansiosa por lo que no me gusta esperar a que hagan nuevas temporadas, pero esta semana estaba en un estado de bajón emocional intenso por lo que decidí darle la oportunidad a Kaiju N°8 y realmente superó mis expectativas.
I'm kind of nostalgic by nature, so I'm always drawn to watching anime that are already a few years old, that for one reason or another I couldn't finish watching at the time or because I simply didn't see them in time, so it's hard for me to give a new anime a chance, plus I'm anxious so I don't like to wait for new seasons to come out, but this week I was in a state of intense emotional downturn so I decided to give Kaiju N°8 a chance and it really exceeded my expectations.
Kaiju N° 8 tiene un argumento un poco simple hasta ahora, pues solo ha salido la primera temporada y al desconocer el contenido del manga no puedo afirmar que las cosas siempre van a ser así, pues la trama podría dejar de ser simple en el futuro, lo que si puedo afirmar es que una historia muy divertida y esto cumplió con mi objetivo de ver un anime que me subiera el ánimo y me hiciera reír después de mucho tiempo sin hacerlo.
Kaiju No. 8 has a rather simple plot so far, since only the first season has come out and not knowing the content of the manga I can’t say that things will always be like this, since the plot could stop being simple in the future, what I can say is that it is a very funny story and this fulfilled my goal of watching an anime that would lift my spirits and make me laugh after a long time without doing so.
La trama se desarrolla en Japón donde son frecuentes los ataques de unos monstruos llamados Kaijus , aun no se revela de donde provienen estos seres que pueden variar de tamaño y habilidades destructivas, pero el país está preparado con un cuerpo de defensa qué es algo así como una fuerza armada especializada en exterminar a los Kaijus y a su vez se encargan de la investigación de estos monstruos, así como el desarrollo de nuevas tecnologías para crear armas cada vez más eficaces para exterminarlos, también cuentan con protocolos de emergencia para que la población pueda evacuar las ciudades cuando hay una alerta de Kaijus.
The plot takes place in Japan, where attacks by monsters called Kaijus are frequent. It is not yet revealed where these beings, which can vary in size and destructive abilities, come from, but the country is prepared with a defense corps, which is something like an armed force specialized in exterminating the Kaijus, and in turn is responsible for the investigation of these monsters, as well as the development of new technologies to create increasingly effective weapons to exterminate them. They also have emergency protocols so that the population can evacuate cities when there is a Kaiju alert.
En ese entorno conocemos al protagonista de la historia, el cual es un hombre de 32 años llamado Kafka Hibino, el trabaja en el cuerpo especializado de la limpieza de la ciudad después de que el cuerpo de defensa haya exterminado a los Kaiju, es decir se encargan del manejo de los cadáveres de los monstruos, lo cual es un trabajo muy difícil e importante, pero que por naturaleza del mismo pasa desapercibido para la gente que en general siente admiración solo por los actos heroicos del cuerpo de defensa, pero nuestro protagonista siempre quiso pertenecer al cuerpo de defensa pero después de intentarlo muchas veces de dio por vencido al no poder aprobar las pruebas de admisión.
In that environment we meet the protagonist of the story, who is a 32 year old man named Kafka Hibino, he works in the specialized corps for cleaning the city after the defense corps has exterminated the Kaiju, that is, they are in charge of handling the corpses of the monsters, which is a very difficult and important job, but by nature of it goes unnoticed by people who generally feel admiration only for the heroic acts of the defense corps, but our protagonist always wanted to belong to the defense corps but after trying many times he gave up when he could not pass the admission tests.
Nuestro resignado amigo pasa sus días cumpliendo su trabajo sin muchos cambios, hasta que conoce a un nuevo limpiador, un joven llamado Reno Ichikawa quien está determinado a no quedarse en ese empleo si no que espera hacer la pruebas de admisión del cuerpo de defensa y este le informa a Kafka qué han subido la edad límite para el ingreso, así que lo motiva a hacer un último intento para ingresar al cuerpo de defensa.
Our resigned friend spends his days doing his job without much change, until he meets a new cleaner, a young man named Reno Ichikawa who is determined not to stay in that job but instead hopes to take the entrance exams for the defense corps and he informs Kafka that they have raised the age limit for entry, so he motivates him to make one last attempt to enter the defense corps.
Pero las cosas se complican pues ambos sufren un ataque mientras cumplían su trabajo y terminan en el hospital, Kafka recordando la promesa que la había hecho a su amiga de infancia quien ahora es la general del cuerpo de defensa, decide que quiere intentar de nuevo la admisión, pero en esa situación aparece un Kauji y se introduce en el cuerpo de Kafka y este se transforma en un Kaiju, pero no pierde la consciencia de humano, al contrario no encuentra que hacer con su nueva forma y esto es bastante gracioso, me gustaría poder contar que pasa después pero creo que seria genial que lo vean para que se rían tanto como yo.
But things get complicated when both suffer an attack while doing their job and end up in the hospital, Kafka remembering the promise he made to his childhood friend who is now the general of the defense corps, decides he wants to try again to be admitted, but in that situation a Kauji appears and enters Kafka’s body and he transforms into a Kaiju, but he doesn’t lose his human consciousness, on the contrary he doesn’t know what to do with his new form and this is quite funny, I would like to be able to tell you what happens next but I think it would be great if you saw it so you can laugh as much as I do.
La nombre de Kafka me parece genial porque es una obvia referencia al cuento de la Metamorfosis escrito por Franz Kafka donde el protagonista se transforma en un gran escarabajo, por eso la transformación de Kafka Hibino es algo muy fantástico sabiendo el nombre que le pusieron al protagonista, realmente está primera temporada me encantó, pues todo los que sucede después esta relacionando a como Kafka Hibino tiene que lidiar con su nuevo cuerpo, sus poderes y a las vez con la idea de cumplir el sueño de su vida y pertenecer al cuerpo de defensa para exterminar Kaijus siendo el un Kaiju 😅. Recomiendo este anime ampliamente si quieren ver algo entretenido, según leí en unos artículos se espera que para 2025 hagan una nueva temporada y estaré atenta a esto ☺️
The name Kafka seems great to me because it is an obvious reference to the tale of Metamorphosis written by Franz Kafka where the protagonist transforms into a large beetle, that is why the transformation of Kafka Hibino is something very fantastic knowing the name they gave to the protagonist, I really loved this first season, because everything that happens afterwards is relating to how Kafka Hibino has to deal with his new body, his powers and at the same time with the idea of fulfilling the dream of his life and belonging to the defense corps to exterminate Kaijus being a Kaiju 😅. I highly recommend this anime if you want to see something entertaining, according to what I read in some articles it is expected that by 2025 they will make a new season and I will be attentive to this ☺️
