A few days ago I watched the first season of the anime The Apothecary Diaries, I had no reference about it other than a video on social media that I found interesting, in my mind I thought it would be a “cute” anime, without this being derogatory in any way, I am referring to romantic style animes that are like a breath of fresh air for the soul because they do not have major complications in the plot and are good for when one just wants peace, quiet and pretty things on screen, but it turned out that The Apothecary Diaries does not belong to that group, because it is full of many mysteries to solve and it has the perfect dose of comedy as well as a very beautiful aesthetic, I simply loved it.
Hace pocos días vi la primera temporada del anime Los diarios de la boticaria, no tenía ninguna referencia acerca de esta más que un video de redes sociales que me pareció interesante, en mi mente pensé que sería un anime “lindo”, sin que esto sea despectivo en ningún sentido, me refiero a los animes de estilo romántico qué son como un aire fresco para el alma pues no tienen mayores complicaciones en la trama y son buenos para velos cuando uno solo quiere paz, tranquilidad y cosas bonitas en pantalla, pero resultó ser que los Diarios de la boticaria no pertenece a ese grupo, pues esta lleno de muchos misterios que resolver y tiene la dosis perfecta de comedia además de una estética muy bella, simplemente me encantó.
The story centers on Maomao, a young apothecary who lives in the red light district with her father Luomen who is an old man from whom she learned his trade, she mainly serves the girls of a brothel where she practically grew up and the girls are like her sisters, unfortunately a group of men kidnap her and sell her to the imperial harem, in the inner palace which is almost a huge city live the emperor’s concubines, there are four main concubines, in addition to all the women who are needed as servants, the men who work there are eunuchs, Maomao who does not stand out for her appearance works as a maid, but everything changes when she finds out about a disease that is affecting the emperor’s babies, it is rumored that something supernatural prevents the emperor from having descendants, she, being an apothecary, secretly does her investigation and finds the truth but reveals the result anonymously, until she is discovered.
La historia de centra en Maomao, una joven boticaria que vive en el distrito rojo con su padre Luomen que es un viejo de quien aprendió su oficio, ella atiende sobre todo a las chicas de un burdel en donde ella prácticamente creció y las chicas son como sus hermanas, lamentablemente un grupo de hombres la secuestran y la venden al harén imperial, en el palacio interior que es casi una ciudad enorme habitan las concubinas del emperador, allí hay cuatro concubinas principales, además de todas las mujeres que se necesitan como servidumbre, los hombres que allí trabajan son eunucos, Maomao quien no destaca por su apariencia trabaja como sirvienta, pero todo cambia cuando se entera de una enfermedad que está afectando a los bebes del emperador, se rumorea que algo sobrenatural que impide que el emperador tenga descendientes, ella por ser boticaria a escondidas hace su investigación y da con la verdad pero revela el resultado de forma anónima, hasta que es descubierta.

Desde ese momento el maestro Jinshi quien es un hombre muy apuesto y se encarga de garantizar el bienestar de las concubinas principales además de otras labores diplomáticas, se encargará de que Maomao trabaje al servicio directo de una de las concubinas principales, además de estar también bajo su mando, él impresionado por la inteligencia, perspicacia, curiosidad y sabiduría de la joven Maomao poco a poco le confiara diferentes problemas o casos a resolver, en donde ella se destacará grandemente, pero ambos guardan a su vez muchos secretos tanto de sus orígenes como de sus personalidades.
This anime is perfect for my taste because it has an eccentric protagonist in many ways, Maomao has an enormous scientific curiosity, she is a woman who is not scandalized by sexual or health reasons, she always makes it clear that she is aware of her social position, she does not boast of her wisdom but at the same time she gets excited with each new enigma that is presented to her in addition to being very funny in those moments when her curiosity appears, she is aware of the importance of money, social power relations and also influences, but she does not let herself be corrupted by these things, despite the fact that she sees the corrupt actions of other people as normal, she does not fall for that, for her part she shows herself as a genuine woman despite her young age, for me she could be the protagonist of an Agatha Christie detective novel, because she meets all the requirements to be that type of character with a cold mind for investigation, who puts logic first and who is not surprised by the actions of others. I recommend this anime because it also has beautiful animation.
Este anime es perfecto para mi gusto porque tiene una protagonista excéntrica en muchos sentidos, Maomao tiene una curiosidad científica enorme, es una mujer que no se escandaliza por razones sexuales o de salud, siempre hace notar que es consciente de su posición social, no hace alarde de su sapiencia pero al mismo tiempo se emociona con cada nuevo enigma qué se le presenta además de ser muy graciosa en esos momentos en que su curiosidad aparece, esta consciente de la importancia del dinero, las relaciones sociales de poder y también las influencias, pero no se deja corromper por estas cosas, a pesar de que ve como normales las acciones corruptas de otras personas ella no cae en eso, por su parte se muestra como una mujer genuina a pesar de su corta edad, para mi ella podría ser la protagonista de una novela policiaca de Agatha Christie, pues cumple con todos los requisitos para ser ese tipo de personaje con una mente fría para la investigación, que antepone la lógica y que no le sorprende las acciones de otros. Recomiendo este anime porque además tiene una hermosa animación.
