I pulled a gem from the collection, a 1923 Peace Dollar.
The obverse features a left-facing profile of Lady Liberty, designed by sculptor Anthony de Francisci. Her hair flows freely, symbolizing freedom and peace. The word LIBERTY is inscribed above her, with IN GOD WE TRUST and the date below.
The reverse displays a perched bald eagle holding an olive branch, with rays of sunlight emanating in the background. The inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, and PEACE.
- Metal: 90% silver, 10% copper.
- Weight: 26.73 grams (0.859 troy ounces).
- Silver Content: Approximately 0.7734 troy ounces.
- Mintage: Philadelphia: 30,800,000
This coin is graded "About Uncirculated" because of blemishes and marks, it is not considered "uncirculated" or "Mint State". There is some damage around the edges of the reverse, which doesn't help it's grade, but the original mint-state luster and preserved details and lack of wear means this coin grades pretty high considering it's age.
