Saludos, gente linda de #topfivefamily. Aquí me tienen de nuevo para participar de su iniciativa de Jueves de TBT. Hoy les traigo un recuerdo de hace unos cuantos años.
Greetings, lovely people of #topfivefamily. Here I am again to participate in your Throwback Thursday initiative. Today I'm sharing a memory from a few years ago.
La foto de hoy representa el mejor momento para recordar un #juevesdetbt. Esta foto fue tomada muchos años atrás, si no me equivoco en el 99, meses previos antes de que Venezuela cambiara de presidente.
En fin, en la foto de izquierda a derecha aparece mi hermano, yo, un amigo de mi hermano llamado Joseph, Yuka y otro buen amigo de mi hermano llamado Eduardo.
Actualmente todos seguimos en contacto, al menos una vez al año para darnos el feliz cumpleaños, aunque por parte de mi hermano, él sacó el carisma de mi mamá y aún sigue en contacto con sus amigos.
En cuanto a Yuka, ella es mi primera y única amiga japonesa. Vino de intercambio a mi escuela cuando estaba en bachillerato y se regresó antes de tiempo por problemas políticos que empezaron en el país.
Duró en Venezuela como 3 meses aproximadamente y esta foto la tomamos el día que se despidió de nosotros. Ella se quedó en casa de Eduardo, el que tiene la camisa de EEUU, y en aquel entonces vivía muy cerca de mi casa, por lo que estuvimos en contacto varias veces.
Sin embargo, Yuka no usa redes sociales ni Instagram ni tampoco usa teléfono celular por lo que me es difícil saber de ella. De vez en cuando nos seguimos escribiendo por Facebook, que es la única red social que se abrió para mantener contacto con sus amistades extranjeras.
Así que se ha hecho difícil hablar seguido pero al menos sé que ella está bien. Actualmente tiene una hija hermosa que está por cumplir un año de edad y un esposo que la ama mucho. Si algo saben hacer los japoneses es mantener una amistad intacta aunque no se hable con ella diariamente, por eso la quiero tanto.
Today's photo is the perfect #throwbackthursday moment. This picture was taken many years ago, in '99 if I'm not mistaken, a few months before Venezuela changed presidents.
Anyway, in the photo, from left to right, are my brother, me, a friend of my brother named Joseph, Yuka, and another good friend of my brother named Eduardo.
We're all still in touch, at least once a year to wish each other a happy birthday. My brother inherited my mom's charisma and is still in contact with his friends.
As for Yuka, she's my first and only Japanese friend. She came to my school on an exchange program when I was in high school and returned early due to the political problems that started in the country.
She was in Venezuela for about three months, and we took this photo the day she said goodbye. She stayed at Eduardo's house, the one with the US shirt, and at that time he lived very close to my house, so we were in touch several times.
However, Yuka doesn't use social media or Instagram, nor does she use a cell phone, so it's difficult for me to keep in touch with her. We still write to each other occasionally on Facebook, which is the only social network she created to stay in contact with her foreign friends.
So it's been difficult to talk often, but at least I know she's doing well. She currently has a beautiful daughter who is about to turn one year old and a husband who loves her very much. If there's one thing the Japanese know how to do, it's maintain a friendship even if you don't talk every day, which is why I love her so much.
