It has been a while since I have participated in an initiative like this, which invites us to express why one joined and continues in Hive. Surely, it's for more than just monetary encouragement. Sure, don't get me wrong, being rewarded with generosity is welcome, but establishing relationships across the planet in what one enjoys, such as singing, drawing, or storytelling, to name a few hobbies, gives a sense of purpose to existence itself.
I fell in love with Hive, beyond my early pinnings on the old blockchain (Steem), as I contemplated the feat of emancipation, of successful revolt to the attempt to drown decentralization in the hostile takeover that gave the smooth fork and birth of the object of our love. This event showed me, with facts, the spirit that led the mythical and mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto to the creation of Bitcoin.
Hive is more than a magnificent ecosystem of decentralized applications and digital economy. It is the effort of a diverse community of content creators (I like to call them soul culturists), software developers, curators, and investors; threading together and consolidating a new way of leading life outside of mainstream influences. Hive is resilient, even, in the rise of the onslaught of artificial intelligences against the emanation of the eminently human.
For this reason, I have always returned in the last five years of my life, to walk these digital paths, contacting my friends made here, to whom I owe so much in moments of darkness. Hive is hope, a space to grow and develop in that which one values and which, because of being immersed in the chores of subsistence, one has long put aside.
I fell in love with Hive because I became a regular fiction writer with the encouraging support of colleagues versed in that art. I remember when my youngest daughter asked me to buy her an ugly doll (The Storyteller) that was all the rage in the early 2000s, and I told her, I'll tell them to you. Sitting on the edge of her bed, I would read her books of fantasies until she fell asleep. Well, I confess that sometimes I fell asleep before she did, after a hard day's work. Now, she is an adult, she listens with me when she comes home from work, the ones I create here, and we laugh together sharing ideas about it.
I could go on telling you more reasons why I fell in love with Hive, and surely many of you, the more advanced in life, and for the record, it is not that I look or feel very old, would empathize with me, because as different as we think we are, we are more similar than I thought.
I bet every effort to perpetuate Hive with the best of me when it comes to sharing a piece of my own soul. Moreover, I aspire that Hive evolves and transcends to become massive for the benefit of the majority. I know that Hive is open to everyone, but in a way, at this stage, it is still not for everyone, because it requires a path of knowledge and certain skills. Nothing big, but it does demand some effort and perseverance.
What I can attest to is that when you click, love blossoms...
I invite @felixmanranz, @isauris, and @enraizar to participate.
