Esta semana se llevaron a cabo las semifinales, a dos partidos, de la Copa del Rey. Los encuentros en cuestión son Barcelona - Atlético de Madrid y La Real Sociedad - Real Madrid. La vuelta será el primero y el dos de abril respectivamente en la que se prevé sean juegos de alta intensidad teniendo en cuenta lo visto en esta ida y es que hay que decir que ambos partidos fueron espectaculares mostrándonos un ritmo muy alto. El martes se vieron las caras culés y colchoneros en el Estadio Olímpico de Montjuic en el comienzo de un calendario de terror para los dirigidos por el Cholo ya que lo que se les viene es apoteósico ya que de acá a la vuelta les toca jugar en par de ocasiones con el Real Madrid por Champions y una vez contra este Barca por Liga.
This week, the two-legged semifinals of the Copa del Rey took place. The matches in question are Barcelona - Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad - Real Madrid. Este partido comenzaba intenso y es que en el primer minuto Julián Álvarez y a los 5 mini Griezmann ponían el 0-2 para los visitantes en un golpe durísimo para los locales. La intensidad con la que comenzó el Atlético fue abismal, los primeros 15-20 minutos fueron de ellos; la cosa es que mantener eso es casi imposible. Fue acá cuando poco a poco el Barca despertó un poco y Pedri seguido de Cubarsí hicieron el empate, dos minutos de diferencia entre cada gol. Como les digo, la intensidad fue una locura. A partir de acá vimos como los blaugranas tomaron el control del partido, generando y teniendo la posesión hasta que llegó el 3-2 enla cabeza de Iñigo Martínez. Algo curioso es que dos de los tres goles del Barca llegaron de la misma forma, centro al segundo palo y para adentro. Muchas desatenciones en en la defensa rojiblanca.

The intensity with which Atletico started was abysmal, the first 15-20 minutes were theirs; the thing is that maintaining that is almost impossible. El gran detalle con este partido y de ahí la cantidad de goles que vimos es que las líneas defensivas de ambos clubes estaban por lo menos 20 metros adelantadas en relación a su posición original, esto lógicamente hizo que los espacios aparecieran solos y se generaran tantas oportunidades. Fue un juego de remontadas, ir perdiendo 0-2 para llegar a estar 4-2 con otro gol de Lewandowski y que en los últimos 10 minutos te remontan para terminar 4-4 con Llorente y Sorloth como protagonistas a mi manera de ver significó que fue un gran partido. Creo que el Barca pudo haber cerrado este partido e irse con una buena ventaja al Metropolitano pero al final le dio mucha vida a un Atlético que llegará en igualdad de condiciones y como locales. Cuidado y el Barca no dejó la clasificación a la final en Montjuic. Veremos.
The great detail with this game and hence the number of goals we saw is that the defensive lines of both clubs were at least 20 meters forward in relation to their original position, this logically made the spaces appear on their own and generated so many opportunities. I think Barca could have closed this game out and left with a good lead at the Metropolitano but in the end they gave too much life to an Atletico side that will arrive on equal terms and as home side. Watch out and Barca did not leave the qualification to the final in Montjuic. We will see.
En la segunda semifinal que vivimos ayer tuvimos a un Real Madrid contra la Real Sociedad, dos equipos en situaciones un tanto diferentes y es que los blancos están líderes junto al Barca mientra que los vascos están luchando puestos europeos. Los merengues al tener un calendario un tanto ajustado también decidieron rotar bastante, Mbappe se quedó fuera, Rodrygo tampoco fue titular y sus lugares se les dio la oportunidad a Endrick y a Arda Guler. La Real si salió con su 11 de gala que como siempre está acostumbrado a ser un equipo muy duro y ordenado. Este partido no fue tan frenético como el anterior, tampoco fue uno malo pero si vimos una dosificación. Acá los roles se repartieron, considero que no hubo un claro denominador, por momentos eran los de Anoeta quienes proponían y por otros los dirigidos por Carletto.
In the second semifinal that we lived yesterday we had a Real Madrid against Real Sociedad, two teams in somewhat different situations and is that the whites are leaders along with Barca while the Basques are fighting for European places. Here the roles were divided, I consider that there was no clear denominator, at times it was the Anoeta team who proposed and at others the team led by Carletto.
Lo más destacable acá es el gol de Endrick, un jugador que a mi parecer debería de tener más minutos dada la calidad que tiene, de hecho ese tanto fue espectacular, un buen control a pase de Bellingham y una mejor definición a tres dedos. Ambos equipos tuvieron sus ocasiones de goles pero creo que al final fue Remiro, el portero de la Real, quien tuvo ligeramente más protagonismo. Se sabe que Ceballos salió lesionado y se perderá 2 meses de acción, una baja dura ya que venía haciendo las cosas bien. También se vivieron, lamentablemente, cantos racistas hacia Vinicius y aparentemente cánticos hacia Asencio. Por si no lo sabes está imputado al estar presuntamente implicado en la distribución de material pornografico infantil. Esto es muy delicado para el jugador y para el club, creo que de ahí se deriva las ligeras fallas que a veces comete.
The highlight here is Endrick's goal, a player who in my opinion should have more minutes given the quality he has, in fact that goal was spectacular, a good control to Bellingham's pass and a better definition to three fingers. Both teams had their chances to score but I think in the end it was Remiro, the Real goalkeeper, who had slightly more prominence. It is known that Ceballos was out injured and will miss 2 months of action, a tough loss as he had been doing well. There were also, unfortunately, racist chants towards Vinicius and apparently chants towards Asencio. In case you don't know, he has been charged for allegedly being involved in the distribution of child pornographic material. This is very delicate for the player and for the club, I think that's where the slight flaws he sometimes commits stem from.
En fin, fue un partido decente y parejo que pudo perfectamente haber terminado en empate. El Madrid no fue esa máquina de juego pero le bastó para llevarse el triunfo. La vuelta en el Bernabéu será complicada para los vascos pero la diferencia es corta por lo que sorpresa se puede dar. No nos extrañe que veamos un clásico, otra vez, en esta final de la Copa del Rey.
All in all, it was a decent and even game that could have ended in a draw. Madrid was not that game machine but it was enough to take the win. The return leg at the Bernabeu will be complicated for the Basques but the difference is short so there could be a surprise. Let's not be surprised if we see a classic, once again, in this Copa del Rey final.
