El mundial lamentablemente está llegando a la recta final, lo que parecía algo que nos iba a durar más tiempo terminó siendo muy efímero. 100 partidos se esfumaron en un mes, parece que fue ayer cuando veíamos el México-Sudáfrica de la inauguración y ahora estamos esperando las semifinales a disputarse los días martes y miércoles; el partido por el tercer lugar el sábado y la gran final dentro de una semana exactamente. Pero el día de hoy estamos acá para conversar un poco del par de semifinales que terminaron emparejadas y que a mi parecer son las mejores que podían quedar viendo el cuadro completo de las eliminatoria y por un tema de historia existente entre cada una de las selecciones.

But today we're here to talk a little about the pair of semifinals that ended up being paired together, which in my opinion are the best possible outcome considering the entire qualifying bracket and the historical rivalry between the two teams.
España-Francia es un partido el cual se ha convertido en una rivalidad "reciente" en Europa y el mundo al punto que entre ambas fanaticadas hay verdaderos roces y piques. Deportivamente hay que decir que los galos están por encima, venir de ser campeones en el 2018, finalistas en el 2022 y ahora optar por una tercera final consecutiva es una locura, igualarían a Alemania (82,86,90) y Brasil (94,98,2002). Francia es la selección que mejor llega a las semifinales, no solo invicta sino que ganando todos sus partidos. Antes de que comenzara el mundial ya decía que iba a ser muy complicado superar a esta selección y miren que lo está siendo. Con un Mbappé pletórico que va rumbo a romper todos los récords de goles y probablemente ser el mejor jugador de los mundiales de la historia, los dirigidos por Deschamps buscarán la hazaña ante una España de la que yo esperaba un poco más.
Spain-France is a match that has become a "recent" rivalry in Europe and the world, to the point that there are real clashes and heated exchanges between the two sets of fans. Los españoles no es que estén teniendo un mal mundial, por algo están en semifinales, pero si que es verdad que hay jugadores y por tanto el funcionamiento de varios sectores que están quedando en deuda. El mediocampo no está sólido y Lamine Yamal está ligeramente por debajo de su nivel de siempre. Tanto es así que se han tenido que apoyar en Oyarzabal como en el salvador Mikel Merino para lograr los goles casi "in extremis". Entonces, ¿ese titubeo que a veces vemos en España podrá contra la todopoderosa Francia? - lo veremos el día martes pero si me animo a dar un pronostico diría que España va a tener que hacer las cosas perfectas si quiere tener oportunidad contra Francia. La segunda semifinal tiene más historia que cualquiera y no solo a nivel de futbol. Entre los ingleses y argentinos hay cosas que trascienden el deporte que hace que este partido sea realmente especial.

But it's true that some players, and therefore the performance of several areas of the team, are falling short. The midfield isn't solid, and Lamine Yamal is slightly below his usual standard. So, will that hesitation we sometimes see from Spain be enough against the all-powerful France? Cabo Verde, Egipto y ahora los suizos estuvieron a punto de mandar a casa a los actuales campeones del mundo. La realidad es que Argentina está jugando mal, muy mal y están en semis gracias a la magia individual de sus jugadores ya que por juego colectivo estuvieran fuera hace rato. El manejo de Scaloni está siendo terrible, como es posible que ve que un once no juega y le cuesta los partidos y al siguiente encuentro repite alineación y hace exactamente los mismos cambios? - no se entiende. Ya lo dije pero De Paul no está para la selección, Molina tampoco, Nico González reprobado también, poco de Enzo Fernández. Y ahora a esta plantilla le toca una dura Inglaterra porque si, pocos apostaban por ella pero ahí están.

Los ingleses vienen de doblegar a Noruega en un partido en donde Bellingham fue el líder absoluto. 6 goles lleva el jugador del Madrid, algo muy impresionante la verdad. Creo que Inglaterra son dos en una. Cuando la atacan es muy vulnerable pero cuando decide adelantar líneas puede ser letal. Creo que vienen en mejor forma que Argentina, han jugado de una manera más consecuente, tener a Kane y a Jude es algo que realmente da miedo y respeto y que si se proponen dar el paso perfectamente pueden dejar a la albiceleste fuera. Los ingleses han demostrado más nivel en parte gracias a los rivales que les ha tocado, sobretodo México y eso curte a los jugadores, creería yo. Será un gran partido, emocionante y lleno de historia. Este lo veo más complicado de pronosticar porque dar por muerta a la Argentina no es fácil pero veo la balanza ligeramente inclinada hacia los europeos únicamente por el juego visto hasta ahora, pero veremos, hay que jugar.
The English are coming off a victory against Norway in a match where Bellingham was the undisputed star. The Real Madrid player has scored six goals, which is truly impressive. I think England are two sides in one. When they're under attack, they're very vulnerable, but when they push forward, they can be lethal. I think they're in better form than Argentina; they've played more consistently. Having Kane and Jude is something that truly commands respect, and if they decide to take the next step, they could easily knock Argentina out. The English have shown a higher level of play, partly thanks to the opponents they've faced, especially Mexico, and that toughens up the players, I believe. It will be a great match, exciting and steeped in history. This one is more difficult to predict because writing Argentina off isn't easy, but I see the odds slightly in favor of the Europeans based solely on their performance so far. But we'll see; the game has to be played.
