Hay series que deberían de estar teniendo mucha más atención y una de ellas es Paradise. La comencé a ver porque me la recomendaron y puedo decir que tiene pinta que será de lo mejor del año tanto por su historia y trama como por su elenco, uno plagado de actores y actrices nominados y ganadores de Emmys y es que Sterling K. Brown como Julianne Nicholson saben muy bien eso de hacer grandes interpretaciones. Esta serie es una especie de thriller distópico en una época en donde el mundo como lo conocemos ya no existe. Se pudiera decir que tiene mucha intriga, suspenso y drama. Puede que se le parezca a cosas que ya se han hecho antes pero de todas maneras no deja de ser una serie extraordinaria.

Todo comienza en una comunidad bastante tranquila y pacífica por los lados de Colorado, una ciudad en donde solo están las personas más destacadas y prominentes del país. Un buen día esa armonía se rompe con la noticia de un asesinato, pero no de uno cualquiera, no, estamos hablando de la muerte del presidente de los Estados Unidos. Como es de esperarse aquel suceso rompe con todo y comienza una investigación exhaustiva en donde en el medio de ella está Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) quien es el jefe del servicio secreto y quien puede que sea uno de los sospechosos. Todo esto estará a punto de abrir una caja de pandora que pondrá en peligro la estabilidad de aquel lugar.

Y hablo de estabilidad porque los secretos que hay entorno a aquella ciudad son muy grandes, tanto es así que pudieran cambiar el destino y el rumbo de un país para siempre. En el mismo primer capítulo comenzarán a entender un poco todo y es que en el ya presentan lo que es esa ciudad realmente ayudando así a incrementar la intriga y las ganas de seguir viendo, acá hay muchos cliffhanger. La base de la serie y aunque suene repetitivo son los secretos, todo se moverá en torno a ellos y las personas que los esconden. Al final lo que hay es un complot político lleno de conspiraciones para buscar controlar todo el sitio.

Ya se los digo de que es imposible aburrirse viendo esta serie, todos los capítulos pasa algo. Una de las cosas que me llamó la atención es la forma en cómo nos van dando contexto, aquí tienden a usar muchos flashbacks, siempre estamos viajando al pasado para entender el presente y su comportamiento. Los personajes obviamente son la esencia de todo y para conocer el trasfondo de sus acciones es necesario saber como terminaron en la posición en la que están en la actualidad. Eso por una parte y es que por la otra también está en el aire la duda sobre qué pasó realmente en el mundo, que está escondiendo la gente que controla aquel lugar? - todas esas dudas las van a tener como espectador.

On the one hand, and on the other hand, there is also in the air the doubt about what really happened in the world, what are the people who control that place hiding? - All these doubts you will have as a spectator.
El nivel actoral es muy bueno, ver a Julianne Nicholson actuar es increíble, su papel en la serie es la de la jefa de todo, la que mueve los hilos y sabe exactamente que pasa allí, se le conoce como Sinatra. Muy sobria, es un personaje que realmente llegas a detestar pero tiene una particularidad y es que también empatizas con ella por todo lo que le ha tocado vivir, se entiende de dónde puede venir todo lo que vemos. Sterling también lo resuelve muy bien, es un padre afligido que lo único que busca es proteger a sus hijos al mismo tiempo que descubrir todo lo que hay debajo de la alfombra. La verdad todo el elenco está muy bueno, hay actuaciones muy valiosas.
The acting level is very good, to see Julianne Nicholson act is incredible, her role in the series is that of the boss of everything, the one who pulls the strings and knows exactly what happens there, she is known as Sinatra. Very sober, she is a character that you really come to detest but she has a particularity and it is that you also empathize with her for everything that she has had to live, you understand where everything we see can come from. Sterling also solves it very well, he is a grieving father that the only thing he seeks is to protect his children while discovering everything that is under the carpet. The truth is that the whole cast is very good, there are very valuable performances.
Una serie que lo tiene todo, acción, conspiraciones, drama e intriga, mucha intriga. Al estar confirmada la segunda temporada entendemos el porqué de su final tan abierto. Hay mucho que resolver, varios plot twist hicieron que se disfrutara aún más toda la serie; una verdadera joya. Tiene 8 episodios y está en Disney+. Le doy un 8.5/10. A series that has it all, action, conspiracies, drama and intrigue, lots of intrigue. As the second season has been confirmed, we understand why it has such an open ending. There is a lot to solve, several plot twists made the whole series even more enjoyable; a real gem. It has 8 episodes and is on Disney+. I give it an 8.5/10. I leave the trailer below.
