It's been 20 decades—apparently 200 years—since the incident. The tragedy of losing all forms of humanity in oneself isn't a thing to joke about, but Lord Asmodeus lost it all when his wife and unborn child died at the hands of his own people—the people he had created, nurtured, saved—and his so-called siblings watched it all happen and did nothing about it. Asmodeus was rogue and slaughtered every one of them till there was no one left, and he never for once regretted his actions.

But time had passed yet Asmodeus couldn't find peace; he had but one servant, Sebastian, who created from his own blood; what Asmodeus hated, he hated it too; and what Asmodeus liked, he liked it too.

“Sire, we have found the door that travels through time, but sire, the price is not worth a mighty god's life like yourself.” Sebastian told his master that he always had a forever-permanent scowl across his face.

“Sebastian, my little puppet, what makes you think it's not worth my life? Speak up." Asmodeus answered him in a nonchalant manner. He always knew that his creations were curious and wanted his attention on them; that's why they killed his beloved, thinking she was taking too much of his attention. But Sebastian wasn't like any of his previous mistakes; this creation of his was as heartless as he was; he didn't ask questions unless they were important. He created Sebastian to only serve, never to love, and never to feel emotions.

“Sire, you are too powerful to lose your importance over emotions.” Sebastian said it like it's nothing with a straight face.

“She and my child are worth every single death stored in me and my creations. Even you, Sebastian, should never think you are anything special. If I had to kill all my creations to bring her back to life, I would do it without a slightest doubt.” Sebastian couldn't look at his master because of the aura emanating from him; he knew he had touched a sensitive matter. Since he came into existence, all he felt was the intensifying will to serve his master even till death and a bitter rage to kill anyone who didn't follow the will of his master. Those were the only emotions he had ever felt, but it's been a long time since he became curious about his master and why his master was self-destructive.

Asmodeus could care less about what happened to him; he was ready to turn back time and be with his queen, the only woman who brought out the best in him. Even though she couldn't speak or hear, he would give the world and destroy it again just to be with her. Lily was a little orphan girl who was deaf and mute. He found her beating close to her death; he rescued her, gave her a home and food on her table, but he didn't realize when he also gave his heart to her.

“Sire, can I come with you?”

"No, Sebastian, you can't, and you would die as well, so what use are you to me dead?" When there wasn't any response from Sebastian, Asmodeus left him. “I thought as much.” He said, leaving Sebastian standing there in a confused state.

When Asmodeus saw the door, it was like every other door—wooden with a lock—but what was different about this door was that it spoke.

"Asmodeus, what you seek doesn't seek you; let it go.” The door said it sounded ancient.

“Never! I want her back with my child, and you can grant me that wish."

“Of course I can grant you your desperate wish, but everything comes with its cost, for you shall become like your creations, a human, and you shall die as one. You would not be called the god of life because your existence and your name would be wiped from the names of gods and goddesses. Do you still want your wish granted, Asmodeus?.”

“What good is my existence without my real family? Yes, I want my wish granted.” Asmodeus answered.

“It is done.” Paused. “Now enter the track of time, into the past, the future, and even the present; if you are not strong enough, you might die; time travel isn't for weaker beings."

“And for your servant, I shall grant him one wish too.” The door opened, and when Asmodeus stepped in, he could feel it; his power and life source were draining out so much that all he could see was pitch black, and the darkness took over his consciousness.

“Sebastian, leave your father to sleep; he is so tired he can't play ball with you today.” A voice so angelic, strict but warm, brought back Asmodeus' consciousness. When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was the ceiling that didn't look anything like his room's ceiling. Next, he turned to his side only to see a baby.

And then, like a dream, he saw Lily, beautiful, like the day he first found out he had deep feelings for her. He jumped out of the couch, pulling his wife into his arms. He hugged her like his life depended on it, and for the first time, Asmodeus had tears in his eyes.

“Oh dear, did my silly husband miss me while I was gone?.” Lily teased him but still wrapped her hands around him in a warm embrace.

“You can speak? You can hear too?" Lily couldn't really place where all her husband's strange behaviors were coming from; they have been married for 2 years now, and of course she can speak and hear.

“Of course I can hear and speak, you silly man.” She pulled away from his embrace, pinching both sides of his cheeks.

Lily might not know what happened to them; she might not know her husband was a god who gave up his powers just to be with her, but it was okay because the price paid was worth the cost. And when he turned around to look at his son, only to see the striking resemblance between Sebastian and his son, he knew then what Sebastian wished for.

“I wish to remain by my master's side forever.” He told the door, and the door granted his wish.

In the year 2050, Asmodeus died, but he died peacefully, knowing this time he didn't have to time travel because he died with the woman he loved.

The end….
