The first phone we had at home back then was very beautiful, a Samsung phone. It was my dad's first phone, and it was my uncle who bought it for him. On the day it was purchased, my uncle took my dad to a phone shop to pick any phone he wanted. My dad saw the beauty of the phone and chose it. Guess what? The phone could not access the internet, and in those days, internet-enabled phones were already trending. Why would my dad pick such a low-end phone? The anger in me was at its peak because I had already planned to use his phone to register online on 2go and Facebook, just to be like my mates at least.

I had to wait for a long time until I finally had a phone of my own, a "China phone," as they were commonly called back then. I do not even know the exact build of the phone, but I think it was Java. It was mainly a multimedia phone but could access the internet and install the 'small but mighty' trending app at the time, called 2go.
Before then, I was already familiar with some websites, such as waptrick.com and others, but I did not know how to register on 2go. Also, I did not want to be tutored, so I decided to do it myself. Till today, I still regret the username I gave myself. I did not even know what a username was. I entered my full name (first name and surname), but it was not accepted because of space. Then I decided to write all my names together, and the site caught it halfway, up to the limit it could take. The last part of the name ended up being a jumble of unpronounceable alphabets… something like "...dkpk." I think I might have selected one of the many suggested usernames related to my name. Oh boy, my friends laughed at me so hard when they saw the name I had chosen.
That was my only problem while registering. After that, I did not have any difficulty browsing the internet or catching up with the trend. That app was so easy to understand that anyone could grasp the idea at a glance. It was loads of fun back then, especially how we stayed focused on the app just to boost our rank.
Some people would leave their data active even at night just to level up quickly. However, people like me could not do that because of the kind of phone I was using. My "China phone" had a battery that drained so fast that it could not compete with anything.
Thanks!
