Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. It was a bad brawl, but the free wins did help me out
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 4 wins. There were 2 free wins this time because two guilds didn't submit a person for my brawl. My rewards for the brawl were 2,762 merits and 39.575 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 9th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. I did average if you include the free wins, but we didn't place very well this time.
Brawl fights
There were 4 that I lost, 2 that I won, and 2 that I won due to surrender. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. There wasn't much I could do against my opponent when he had immortalis as a summoner and the level advantage that he had. I got completely demolished by my opponent.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. This was another battle where my opponent had the level advantage, and his lineup was just way more powerful than mine. I lost on all aspects in this fight.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent had the level advantage again, and there wasn't much I could do when my opponent had the damage advantage as well. Once my tank went down, there was nothing I could do.
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent had the level advantage again, and the combination of Cornealus with close range is tough to beat. It could easily heal the damage that I did, and the opportunity monster stacked bloodlust on my backline.
Conclusion
Doing 8 fights for 2,762 merits and 39.575 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I didn't do so great, and the free wins were the only thing that balanced things out. My guild also didn't so great as we ranked last place, and it's the first time that has happened. I guess losing so many active players have started to take a large toll on our rankings.
