Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. I lost most of my matches this round.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 3 wins. There was 2 guild that did not assign a participant in my brawl so there were 2 free wins. My rewards for the brawl were 2,556 merits and 22.228 SPS in the 3 star category. My guild ranked 6th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. We didn't rank that well this time around.
Brawl fights
There were 1 won due to surrender, and 6 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match and I couldn't outlast my opponent. That scavenger monster was too much for me because that poison just took me out. Weapons training is too powerful.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match due to the speed difference. My opponent just moved faster than me and this allowed him to attack first.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because of all the magic monsters along with my enemies' summoner.
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match and I had bad luck with the scattershot from the ruleset and I couldn't focus my damage. The magic damage also cut through my armor so I lost my backline even faster.
You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match and my opponent had a speed advantage. All of that attack on top of the fact that melee monsters can attack from anywhere led to my destruction. I couldn't do much and I missed quite a few attacks.
You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match and it was a problem with speed again. I couldn't do much and I didn't have enough attackers. I wanted to outlast my opponent but my opponent was just too strong.
Conclusion
I think doing 7 fights for 2,556 merits and 22.228 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I didn't do so well as I lost any match where my opponent submitted a match but I did get 3 due to people not submitting matches. I would say that my biggest problem was magic monsters and using low speed monsters. So I need to consider that more for my matches.
