Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Djinn Inferni.
Featured cards

Djinn Inferni is a fire splinter that costs 7 mana. This splinter starts with the Giant Killer ability. Leveling up this card increases the stats of this monster, and it learns stun at level 5. It's a card that I use in Brawls because it can't be used in Modern.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Standard. This means that there are no modifiers. There is also 60 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for life and death.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eternan Brune | 6 | Summoner | -2 armor |
| Living Lava | 7 | 1st | shield |
| Chimney Wallstop | 10 | 2nd | reach and bloodlust |
| Ifrit Rising | 8 | 3rd | charge |
| Djinn Inferni | 7 | 4th | giant killer |
| Ettin Spearman | 8 | 5th | pierce |
| Ferox Defender | 8 | 6th | protect |
| Total Mana: | 54 |
The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Eternan Brune for its -2 armor. My tank is Living Lava because it has the shield ability. My backup tank is Chimney Wallstop with reach and bloodlust. Then I have my magic monsters Ifrit Rising and Djinn Inferni followed by Ettin Spearman. My final monster is Ferox Defender with protect
Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match can go either way, but I have the advantage. I just have more damage than my opponent, and I am making the most of the high mana.
Round 4

A few rounds later, my opponent has 3 monsters left while I have 5. I have stacked quite a few bloodlust, so I don't think there is anything my opponent can do against my damage.

I won the match later that round.
Conclusion
The battle this time did go exactly as planned. I just had more damage than my opponent, and I love Djinn Inferni's fast and strong magic damage. Its only downside is the low health, and the Giant Killer was useful against some monsters.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
