Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Dread Tafarian.

Featured cards

Dread Tafarian is an earth splinter that costs 9 mana. This splinter starts with the heal ability. This card doesn't learn any new abilities, but increasing its level will increase its stats.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Close Range and Reverse Speed. This means that all monsters gain the close range ability, and the turn order is reversed. There is also 31 mana available, and I can use every splinter except fire and death.

A'lan Musketeer82ndDouble Strike
New Beluroc Aegis83rdTaunt
Total Mana:31

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Aurelia for the +1 health. Dread Tafarian is my tank with heal. After that is A'lan Musketeer with double strike, and finally New Beluroc Aegis with taunt. Dread and New Beluroc Aegis are my tanks to give A'lan Musketeer more time to deal damage.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match can go either way. My opponent has a fairly strong tank, but my opponent's damage is too spread out.

Round 8

A few rounds later, I still have all my monsters, but my opponent is down to 1. I have this match won because my opponent can't deal any damage.

I won the match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle this time did go exactly as planned. Dread Tafarian was such an amazing tank when combined with Aegis's taunt. My opponent had no chance to kill Dread, and my A'lan Musketeer just helped deal damage.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
