Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a battle where I saw a new ruleset

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are No Mans Land and Enraged Warriors. This means that no human type cards can be used, and melee monsters attack before magic/ranged. There is also 40 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for water and life.

SplinterMana CostPositionReason
Barthalamas6Summoner+1 Speed
Frankarsgard71st
Chaos Furybringer62ndReach
Ash Archer53rd
Sturdy Axe Warden84th
A'lan Musketeer85thDouble Strike
Total Mana:40

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. My tank is Frankarsgard. My backup tank is Chaos Furybringer with reach, followed by my ranged monsters as damage dealers.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match can go either way, but my opponent has a slight advantage due to the level advantage on Frankarsgard. That enrage ability makes it a bit faster, so I am not sure what will happen if I can't finish it off in one round.

Round 4

A few rounds later, my opponent has 4 monsters while I have 1 monster left. There is no way for me to win because I can't attack anymore

I lost later that round.

Conclusion

The battle did not go exactly as I planned. Missing an attack on an enraged Franksgard hurt as it left an enraged Franksgard to hit me the following round. I did see a new ruleset, but the description seems a bit misleading. It's not just archons, but it includes normal monsters as I didn't have a choice to play Buns. I thought I saw all the twists in the rulesets, but now it seems like an entire type of card can be removed from play.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
