Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Flesh Golem.

Featured cards

Flesh Golem is an Earth splinter that costs 6 mana. This splinter starts with the heal ability. This card learns void at level 7. This is an old card that I bought when I first started playing Splinterlands, and its nice to use it from time to time.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Up to Eleven, Collateral Damage, and Counterspell. This means that all monsters gain the amplify, reckless, and magic reflect abilities. There is also 34 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for fire, water, and death.

Total Mana:35

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Wizard of Eastwood for the -2 armor. I don't want any of my monsters to attack until the very end if I can. So other than that Martyr monster, the rest can't attack. With this, my opponent will just slowly kill himself, and I should win out due to endurance due to Flesh Golem.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match can go either way, but I am not liking my chances. If that poison lands on my Flesh Golem, it might not be able to survive long enough, and my opponent has max-level cards. The only bonus is that my opponent can kill himself slowly.

Round 6

A few rounds later, my opponent and me both have 1 monster left. However, I win because of that heal ability

I won the match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle did go exactly as planned, even if my opponent did have max-level cards. However, things could have gone south if Flesh Golem got poisoned. I thought I had lost when my opponent came out with Mylor (thorns) and max level cards, but I am glad that strategy worked out in the end.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
