Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a battle where I did well because I focused my damage on one monster.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Armored Up and Lost Magic. This means that all monsters gain +2 armor and no magic monsters can be used. There is also 50 mana available, and I can use only fire, life, or dragon splinter.

Incessant Sage6Summoner+1 armor
Twice Yester Knight71stShield
Hungry Ulund52nd
A'lan Musketeer83rdDouble Strike
Total Mana:26

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Incessant Sage for the +1 armor. My tank is Twice Yester Knight with shield. My backup tank is Hungry Ulund, and my main damage dealer is A'lan Musketeer.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match can go either way, but I have a slight advantage in damage, and my damage is targeted towards my enemy's first monster. However, my opponent does have all melee monsters while my ranged monsters lose the ability to attack when they get moved up.

Round 3

A few rounds later, my opponent is left with 1 monster but I still have 3. My tanks managed to stay alive because my opponent couldn't deal that much damage, but A'lan was almost dead. Either way, its my win now because of the speed and damage difference.

I won later that round.

Conclusion

I won the match because my strategy of focusing on damage while my tank soaks up damage worked. I was a bit worried since both of us had maxed-level Twice Yester Knight, but focusing my damage worked out. By taking out a few monsters early on, I was effectively reducing my enemy's damage, and this let me win the match without too many issues.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
