Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a battle where I did well because I used the ruleset to my advantage.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan
The rulesets this time are Fog of War. This means that all monsters lose the sneak, opportunity, and snipe abilities. There is also 50 mana available, and I can use only fire, earth, or death splinter.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Frankarsgard for the +1 speed. My tank is Frankarsgard. My backup tank is Buns the Unseen with reach and Scales of Justice with dodge. Following that is my ranged damage dealers. My rangeed monsters will deal most of the damage while the rest of the lineup just works keeping them alive.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match is my win because my monsters are tankier than my opponent's, and I have the speed advantage. I am a bit worried about that taunt monster as the heal monster might tank longer to kill.
Round 3
A few rounds later, my opponent is left with 1 monster but I still have 4. My tanks managed to stay alive by dodging quite a few attacks, so this is an easy win now that my opponnt can't attack.
I won later that round.
Conclusion
The battle did go exactly as planned. My tanks did a great job of keeping my ranged monsters alive as damage dealers. The speed advantage also meant that my tanks were dodging hits, and that made the fight easier. The taunt monster did delay the fight, but not by too much.
