Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a battle where I did well because I used a better placement for my cards than my opponent and my level was higher.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are No Man's Land and High Five. This means that no human cards can be used, and up to 5 monsters can be used. There is also 50 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for earth.

Lunaki Howler72nd
Saltwater Mage83rdSneak
A'lan Musketeer84thDouble Strike
Mystic Scaleweaver95thSlow
Total Mana:46

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Marlai Singariel for the +1 magic. My tank is New Beluroc Aegis with taunt. My backup tank is Lunaki Howler. Following this are my major damage dealers Saltwater Mage, A'lan Musketeer, and Mystic Scaleweaver. I put Mystic Scaleweaver in the last spot in case my opponent is using sneak monsters.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match can go either way, but I have a slight advantage because some of my magic monsters have a higher level, and A'lan is not in the last spot, so it can avoid my opponent's Saltwater Mage.

Round 3

A few rounds later, my opponent is left with 1 monster, but I still have 2. My magic monsters were able to attack before my opponent, so I was able to wipe out my opponent until he only had a ranged monster left.

I won later that round.

Conclusion

I won the match because my strategy of worked out. I had higher level cards, and I think having a monster to absorb those sneak attacks was a better choice. At the same time, even if A'lan died, my magic monster would still be able to deal damage, and I can focus my damage on my opponent's tank with most of my monsters.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
