Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game and there are some interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. For this week, I chose a great battle where I took advantage of the ruleset, summoner, and monsters to get a good win.

Cursed Windeku is a death splinter that costs 6 mana. It has the ability thorns from the very first level. It learns heal at level 5 and slow at level 8. It's a very good tank monster and I like to use it because it can heal itself. When against a melee monster, the thorns damage adds up as well. I have my Cursed Windeku at level 5 so it has both heal and thorns.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time Counterspell, Born Again, and Stampede. This means that all monsters gain the rebirth and magic reflect ability. Also, any monsters with trample will continue attacking until a monster doesn't die. There are 19 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, earth, death or dragon splinter.

I used Thaddius Brood as my summoner because it reduces my enemies's health and magic by 1 and it lets me use cards at a higher level. I start with Cursed Windeku as my tank. After that is a filler monster then my sneak monster with poison. This will allow me to deal damage to the backline and the poison will just make things faster. Then I have Ravenhood Warden with inspire and protect. My final damage dealer has shatter to deal with any high armor monsters and my final monster is another filler.

Round 1

At first glance, I think I have the advantage because of the damage that I can output per turn. The only issue is the bloodlust that Quora has and the martyr will also buff up Quora. I don't have a dispel monster so it depends on whether or not Quora or my Cursed Windeku dies first.

Round 2

The martyr monster is dead but the enemies' Quora has gone up in damage quite a bit. However, I do have a lot of damage on my side. So it depends on whether or not I can land my attacks to win the match. The Quora is also poisoned so I have more leeway.

I was able to win the match a few rounds later. I didn't miss too many attacks but it was annoying to see Quora heal after reviving.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. The magic damage from Quora hurt my opponent and it gave me more leeway to kill off my opponent. I was glad that I had enough damage to win the match and that my Cursed Windeku did a good job of surviving.

You can see my entire match here.
