Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I saw a battle where I saw a new ruleset.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Rise of the Exemplars. This means that you can also use your Exemplars. There is also 43 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for water, earth, or life.

SplinterMana CostPositionReason
Dolfar Darflak3SummonerDark and Fire Archon
Mantaroth111stShield and Armored Strike
Thraghun92ndReach and Cripple
Dark Arborist43rdDemoralize
Chaos Jailer54thAmbush, Opportunity, and Poison
Arachne Weaver55thCorrupted Healing
Mad Ogre Anarchist66thOpportunity
Total Mana:43

My summoner is Dolfar Darflak, so I can have access to dark and fire splinters. I have Mantaroth as my tank with shield and armored strike. After that is Thraghun as a backup tank with reach and cripple. Dark Arborist has demoralize. Arachne Weaver is a support monster with corrupted healing. Chaos Jailer and Mad Ogre Anarchist are my damage dealers.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. I have my monsters up front tank hits, while my corrupted healing will keep the other monsters. So long as they are not dead, then that heal will keep them alive. The rest is moree about dealing damage, and the demoralize also decreases the damage I take from melee monsters.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match because my monsters can attack from their current position. My opponent has too many monsters that can't attack from their position.

Round 4

A few round later, my opponent is down to 1 monster while I have 5 left. There is no chance my opponent can't kill off my monsters fast enough before my magic monsters can wipe him out.

I won later that round.

Conclusion

The battle did go exactly as planned. I kept my monsters alive while wiping out my opponent slowly with the rest of my monsters. It's too bad that my Exemplar wasn't used, but it had a cost of 0 with no abilities. If I had an empty spot due to mana usage, I would have used it as a filler. I haven't decided what to put my exemplar as yet though.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
