Phew....

That's a mouthful.

Honestly though, right now, as it's the only premium KJV personal size in the Thomas Nelson Premier Collection line....I'm just going to call it, the Premium Personal KJV :)

And it's a bible I've been waiting to get for quite sometime now. And it finally arrived and let me just say...Wow!

So the last time I did a review, with my personal sized Canterbury, if you remember they bragged about how nothing in that bible was made in China. Well, this bible is 100% made in China....And the made in China bible is actually built much nicer lol

Let's dive in and check it out:

As with all the Thomas Nelson Premier Collection bibles, this one also came in the two-piece box. A combination of shiny and matte finishes, makes the bible such a joy to unbox.

Here is the back of the box that has all the features of this premium bible. However, this bible is a first for me and you are about to see why...

It's a single column layout!

I have read the KJV for decades now, so I'm used to the traditional two column layout. So I was a bit worried about getting this bible, and trying to adjust to the single column format. It's actually quite brilliant...

We read books in a single column format, so why not read the bible in the same way. It's still verse by verse which is my favorite text layout but what is really cool is...

It's got end of verse references. Which means you don't need to scroll down to the end of the page to find your reference keys. This is actually a rare thing in a lot of bibles, but it's something I'm very comfortable with as my 'first bible' had end of verse references as well.

Plus this is also a red letter edition, which to be honest, doesn't bother me one way or another. I love reading it all :)

The other VERY unique aspect of this bible is the cover!

It's a 'brick red' goatskin leather. Which is striking to say the least, but the leather is EXTRA soft. Plenty of grain and so nice in the hands, I thought getting a red cover would be something different...So far, I love it!

It's a bit of a thick bible, measuring at 1 and 3/4 inches thick. Which isn't too bad and honestly as soon as you have it in your hand, you know it's a personal size. Actually this might be what I consider the perfect sized bible.

Yeah I have big hands, but it's a true personal size. On the thick side of things but it fits perfectly in your hand. And every day carry bible, with pretty much all the features I was looking for.

The European bible paper comes in at 36gsm, which is why it's on the thick side. And reading the reviews of this bible, the only concern people had was the text going into the gutter because it was so thick.

I have not found that to be the case though. All the text is readable and even in the middle of the book, it's clear and crisp. Of course, Thomas Nelson has it's 'Comfort Print' fonts which I absolutely love, so I'll be reading this one a LOT!

Have I found my forever bible????

I think so!

Even if it's made in China ;)
