The Laws of Prosperity by Kenneth Copeland is a book that gives readers insights into God's method of living a blessed and prosperous life. My initial reaction to the title was, “It will only be about money.” However, reading it, I got the sense that although this book is about financial success, it's more.

It gives us an understanding that we are blessed when we are in fellowship with God, when we have faith in God, when we are healthy in body, when we are at peace in our minds, and when we are ready to do what God tells us. The author wants to encourage believers to be completely reliant on God and to believe that God desires His children to live abundantly.

I like this book because Kenneth Copeland teaches spiritual concepts in a simple manner. He has a lot of verses in the Bible that he quotes to back up his teaching and it's easy to read that his teaching is backed up by the Bible.

Faith is the basis for prosperity, and that is one of the main concepts in the book. He reminds his readers that God has promised to bless His people, but they must believe and do so. Joshua 1:8 caught my attention, it reads: "If you do what I command you, your course shall succeed and you shall have good success.

As I read on, I remembered my life. Sometimes I have prayed for good things and yet my heart has been full of fear and doubt. This book was a reminder to me that it's not just about positive words but also having faith in God when it is hard. It made me question myself about my faith in God's promises, and whether I have faith in God's promises when good things are going on, but not when life isn't exactly as I want it to be. This was a lesson I required.

The law of giving is yet another lesson of the book. Kenneth Copeland shares the truth of giving not as if He is selling us a blessing. Rather, it is a faith and love response extending our hearts to accept God's already provided gifts for us.

This teaching brought to my mind that all the little things we do: kind, generous, devoted to God, all these little things count. Also referenced in the book is Luke 6:38: "Give and it shall be given unto you! This verse reminds us that it is a blessing to give, not only to others but also to ourselves.

The message of the book was one of positivity and hope as well was something that I enjoyed. The author doesn't focus on problems, he focuses on God's promises. He feels that our speech, thinking and doing should be consistent with God's Word.

This made me think of what I say every day; I should be more careful with that. Language can erode or build up our trust in the Lord, and we can do that with both positive and negative words.

I think there are plenty of lessons in this book to be learned in terms of faith, obedience, and trusting in God, although some may disagree with some of the teaching. I believe it should be read with an open Bible to cross-referenced with the scriptures and to be understood by the reader.

In a nutshell, The Laws of Prosperity is an inspiring and hope-filled book. It reminded me that prosperity isn't a matter of possessions, but of a life lived to honor God and in His peace, provision and purpose.

This book is recommended for anyone who desires to be devoted to a spiritual growth and gain some knowledge about the promises of God. I do think it has some lessons that if you will let God use you, you will learn to trust Him more and live more hopefully all day.
