If I could have one wish – and only one – I'd wish for lots of wisdom. Wealth, fame, beauty, power or even the ability to travel the world could be many people's choice. Those are great things to have, but I can't beat wisdom. I believe wisdom is the key that can help a person to make the right choices and live a meaningful life.
There are challenges and decisions and that's life. We choose and our choices impact our future every day of our lives. There are decisions that might appear insignificant, but can have a ripple effect for life. Sometimes people make mistakes because they don't understand or take action without careful consideration. If I were endowed with infinite wisdom, I would be better equipped to make better decisions, avoid needless problems, and solve challenging problems.
I would rather have wisdom than riches because happiness can't be bought with money. There are so many people who are so rich but still unhappy, stressed or lonely. If not guided, man will squander his money and end up losing all. But a wise person can deal with resources wisely, invest wisely and use wealth in a way that does good to himself and others. Money without wisdom is like a flying arrow; Wisdom is the one that makes successful things known.
Another reason I would select wisdom is because it is beneficial in developing good relationships. When people understand, respect and support each other, family, friends and community flourish. Wisdom is patience, kindness, and good communication. It enables us to hear before criticizing and to see and listen from others' points of view. Wisdom can lead to peace and harmony in a world that can trigger misunderstandings and conflicts.
I would also desire wisdom as it would enable me to assist others better. A lot of individuals are experiencing problems in life, be it monetary, emotional, or personal. The prudent individual can be a source of counsel, encouragement and solutions. It would give me a sense of fulfillment to help others, and wisdom would help me make a difference in the lives of many people.
Moreover, wisdom is useful because it can be developed throughout life, and will be useful throughout life. Beauty perishes, riches wax and wane, and fame wanes, but wisdom remains with the person. Can take someone through ups and downs. It assists individuals to learn from their experience and develop as stronger persons.
I also think that Wisdom brings peace in the heart. Uncertainty and bad decisions are the sources of many worries. Those who have wisdom are able to comprehend the situations better and react calmly. They can make decisions out of thought and not fear or anger that would result in negative outcomes.
If there was a magic genie that came to me and sates me with one wish, I will not hesitate to pick the wisdom to know everything. Responsible with wisdom I could manage success, face challenges wisely and help the people around me. Wisdom is the greatest gift for to me it's everything, it affects each and every part of your life and it helps you be the best you can be.
That is why my only wish would be to have limitless wisdom. I feel it is the building block of a happy, successful and meaningful life.
