Today I went back in time. Back to the autumn of 2011.
I had a great job that I loved at the time and I was exploring digital opportunities (mainly for my job .. little did I know then)
I was studying Computer Science at the time, and one of our assignments was about Social Media. That is why I decided to create my first social media accounts. I started with Facebook and Twitter.
The first that I should think of was ... my username. What would it be?
The easiest and quickest was .. katycrete.
Why? My friends called me katy and I was from Crete. Can it be simpler than that?
I have mostly used this username for my photography, I have an Instagram account with almost 10K followers, my twitter that I do not use so often and a tiktok channel.. I also created a few years ago a Pexels account, for donating my photographs where I recently reached 30 million views!
Definitely, a reason to celebrate! I am very happy that the photos of where I live have reached more than 30 million people!
As the years went by, and I decided to be involved with the digital space in a different way, I decided to create a different persona. My blogging account, which would be called 'katerinaramm'
I am not sure yet if I should have stayed with the previous username. In my mind, those were/are two different things. Katy is more into photography while Katerina is more into exploring, learning, creating tutorials, trying out different things and apps online and so on.
This post is to remember how it all started and potentially to inspire anyone who reads it.
Do not let chances go by. If you feel inspired, do it. Take the plunge, try it out and see what happens!
