Apparently, Rihanna’s 2006 hit song titled SOS has a hidden pattern in its second verse and we all missed it.
Evan "Kidd" Bogart’s was the one to let us know the Truth about the lyrics. The lyrics weave in classic ’80s song titles and that's just genius lyrics creation by Rihanna but I feel a little bit tricked and I know most people that now know about this do too.
For nearly 20 years, no one noticed, for real not even a single person. Maybe I think it's because most of Rihanna's fans are not old enough to connect an 80s song to hers.
It's a very subtle mix in her lyrics so it'll be hard to figure it out. The song "Take On Me" by A-ha and "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight" these are songs I grew up hearing on my Dad's radio and they're are embedded into this Rihanna song and no one connected the dots. After I noticed this, I've started paying attention to people's songs to see whether that's what these so called creative artists have been doing.
I wouldn't say we're dumb for not noticing because who has enough time to listen that closely and go back to listen and 80s song and then connect the dots like that? When songs play we usually focus on the beat but rarely each line of the lyrics.
That’s the beauty of pop music though, it’s meant to pull you in with the beat or the melody. If I was to pay attention to Lyrics I'll delete 80 percent of the songs on my phone because the lyrics itself can be trash but how the singer turns it into music is what makes those songs out favorite.
Rihanna has really done a great job with that song because she could have been sued for copyright maybe but she did it in a way that nobody found out.
I've shared the link to her SOS song on YouTube so listen again and this time I bet you'll pay attention to the lyrics
