I remember when I just started out on hive, truth be told remembering how I was, I can’t blame newbies who struggle to stay consistent on hive. The person that onboarded be did not really give me anything rather than a pat on the back and the words you can make money from hive. For me I just wanted to do something and be successful at it and I think that was my driving force. I did not make up to $20 in my first 6 months on hive, did I get discouraged? yes I did, Did I quit, of course I did, did I start over again, definitely I did, and when I think about why, it was because I was desperate. Not desperate to make money, but desperate to do something and feel like I am doing something that really makes sense.
That was why at a point I started learning how to write well, I learned the act of storytelling, script writing, writing in general, content and copy writing, and even sales writing. I wanted to write and write really well. I looked up authors like galenKP, Vickoly, I saw how they wrote and loved it, so I learned, and practiced and it was when I continued practising that the money started coming which encouraged me to keep on practising and staying consistent. Today I make far more a week than I made in my first 6 months and I would say I was driven by Passion.
I was so passionate about writing that I would imagine myself writing and telling people that I am a writer with proof. Today I have written over 1,000 posts, and I do it for the joy and thrill I get writing. For me Hive isn’t just a platform to make money from, don’t get me wrong, I love and need the money, but the satisfaction I get knowing that I have written every single day is thrilling. The satisfaction I get when hive buzz buzzes me with the busy bee weekly and monthly badge is thrilling, the pain I feel when I miss a day is something I do not look forward to and even though I love my Job, I know I can’t do it forever, but you see what I do here, I can do it for the rest of my life and that’s my passion, and guess what, it comes with a cause and effect because it challenges me to me better and the effect is seen in my wallet LOL.
