As I write this post I remember the song adulthood na scam. To be honest it sometimes feels like a scam because it ain’t easy dealing with the pros and cons of adulthood. As a child I so much anticipated the thrill of adulthood thinking when I became one I would be free, but now knowing how much the cost of living wants to kill the living, I wish I was a child with nothing to worry about. The main difference between adulthood and being a child is that as a child you worry about little or nothing, but as an adult you get to worry about everything.

This is not about just the rich and poor, in fact the rich have more to worry about. Imagine as a rich man's child you were given everything you wanted, but as an adult even though you are rich you now have to worry about sustaining legacy and keeping your family legacy from crashing in the mud. At least you won’t want it to fall in your hands. This is the headache of being an adult, you can no longer cry over little things, people do not seem to care about you like they did when you were a child, even though they care it is different and you got to live with it.
For me, knowing I got bills to pay has always put me on edge, the long hours at the office, the way I need to figure out everything, the worst of it is thinking about what to eat. Now that I think about it, I remember the days when I got home and had to eat whatever I was given. If I could take something from my childhood it would be those moments because thinking about what to eat as an adult is as stressful as preparing for a major exam.
