I would have started by saying something I usually say, and that is “life is unfair” this is because of the responsibility life puts on us automatically. As adults there are things we must just do, we can’t just avoid, we grow into these responsibilities. You need a job in order to eat, and when you decide to get married, you are automatically responsible for someone, and because of that you need to make out time for them while also making out time for work and self development. But then again, when you think about it, this is the beauty of life, so long it is in balance.

When things are not in balance they become chaotic and that is when we usually say life is not fair. This is not because life did anything wrong per se, but because we have not been able to find the balance we need and thus parts of our lives suffer for it. But then again, I do not believe entirely in balancing the scales when it comes to work, family career and yourself. I believe in making choices and dealing with whatever choice you have made because there are things that will definitely suffer.
If you choose to be rich and successful, then a lot of other things will suffer, usually family. But career and self development will greatly improve. This is not usually because you want them to suffer, but because for some of us that come from nothing, we need to put in twice or thrice the effort to get two times the same result with others from rich homes and thus we must sacrifice a part of ourselves. To me, it is not about finding a balance in the things going on around you, but finding a balance in your heart and accepting the sacrifices you will make. It is also about setting yourself up to one day achieving the things you are currently sacrificing.
