Raze knew he was never going to come back, He also knew it would not be easy for his family, but as cruel as he thought his decision to leave was, he knew it was the best for all of them. The day his family discovered about his journey, was the day he had already left. He did not want to see the tears on the face of his mother and his sisters, he was too afraid of his father to look him in the eyes and say was leaving them and never coming back. As the only son, He knew that a lot was expected of him, the family legacy depended entirely on him, but he left anyway. With tears in his eyes, he boarded the one way flight to India, stripped of all his family's wealth, fortune and power, but with a deep resolve to change his fate because he knew in his heart that it was necessary.
His parents could not believe their eyes after reading the letter he left on his bed. His younger sister Nela had found the letter because she was the only one always fond of him and who would always want to spend time with him. His dad was always busy running the family’s empire, alongside his mother and siblings. Born into one of the six great families in San Francisco, Raze lacked nothing. This was the reason why it was a difficult pill to swallow when his family realized that he decided to leave his family’s empire to a place beyond their reach. No one could understand why He would suddenly opt to leave, he never even gave the reason in his letter, the only thing he said was that he was sorry for the pain his absence would cause and pleaded with his father to name one of his sisters as the sole hair to the family’s empire saying his leaving was necessary for the family.
He also did not take a single thing from his family’s estate except the truck he got from his own hard work months before he left. Raze’s father never understood why he even got that cheap looking truck and never wanted to see him drive it as it did not showcase the family’s wealth. However, Raze always insisted that he would keep it because it was from his own sweat and had nothing to do with the family’s fortune or business. After he left, his family was even more shocked after realizing that they could not track him down with his bank accounts as he never withdrew anything from it even after he left. They thought he would need money and take out something from one account at least. His father was counting on that, but it never happened which made his family even more confused.

Seven years passed and Raze did not still return until his youngest sister Nela suddenly called the entire family to an emergency meeting. She had finally discovered the truth about Raze’s departure. After everyone had gathered they noticed she was holding an oddly purple book that caught the light in its reflection. Even her Father, the head of the family had not seen such a book before and when she was finally asked the reason for summoning the meeting, she said it was time they all knew the reason for Raze’s departure. The book was no ordinary book, and according to her, it only revealed itself when certain conditions were met. There was no way to explain everything, so she decided to open the book right before everyone present.
Immediately she opened it, they all could feel it, every content of the book resonated with them because it was linked to their bloodline. According to the book’s content, it revealed itself to her because Raze chose her to be the next head of the family after fulfilling the booking condition. The book only appears every one hundred years, and it had appeared to Raze telling him of the sacrifice his family must endure if they must continue to keep their legacy. A member of the family must leave and forsake every privilege the family had to offer in order for them to keep their legacy. This sacrifice must be kept every 100 years and Raze decided to sacrifice himself even after the book had chosen him as the next head of the family which was his birthright in the first place. To him, it was better he made the sacrifice than allow his sisters or cousins to make such sacrifices. After the book saw he was never coming back, it chose another family head Nela.
It was at this point even the head of the family who everyone feared burst into tears. The realization of his sons loss and sacrifice broke him in ways he could not imagine. No one could ever understand the reason he left, and Raze decided to not tell them because he did not want anyone to make such a sacrifice while he stood to enjoy the benefit. The family must now forget him and never speak of his sacrifice if they must keep their legacy as it is the blood oath their ancestors had made with the Purple book.
