I am always of the opinion that taking on new challenges is an avenue to grow, in June this year I had it in mind to try out something new. I wanted to do a lot of things, but understood that I needed to start somewhere. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure of where I wanted to start from, but I decided to start anyway. I saw that like my company, a lot of corporate organizations in these parts of the world lacked management technology that could help them manage a lot of things, and these things were becoming a big problem for my company. The government has been developing a lot of processes and certifications, but then again these processes lacked execution power to take effect because humans would always need time or a system to change. This prompted me to start building the system a lot of these organizations don’t have that would help work flow seamlessly and also help effect a lot of these changes. If you have worked in a corporate organization you will realize that it is a lot both for the employees and the employers.

Employers need results, employees need either motivation or a system that can work with them. Often times it is hard to merge these two together, for example, one of the most stressful thing a lot of employees complain about is the fact that after all they hectic work they have to write reports for it, and if you do not keep proper track of your activities, you will end up not putting the full detail of your work. I have seen a lot of employees lose their jobs not because they weren’t performing but because there was no way to track their performance and that was one of the many things I decided to solve. This made me go on a journey of building a software that could help the management have proper control over their employees activities and also help the employees track their KPIs without the hustle of sitting down to write a report. This was no easy task because I manage three companies and still have to do my daily task, but last month I was able to finish not just the software but three other software ideas I got between June and October.

To be honest I feel like tearing up as I write this post, I remember all the sleepless nights and headaches falling sick in between but was still able to pull these off. I proposed it to my company and a few other companies last month and every single one of them loved the idea. What I built is what I call a work management system, but it functions in a different way from other systems that already exist. Imagine a world where you open your phone and see your tasks for the day, you perform the tasks/job role and show prove of work done, every single task already has a report for the week, month or quarter because it is part of your KPI as an employee and part of the things that make the company run. If you ever need to do a presentation, you will need to just talk about the why for everything that is going on already. But that is just the simple part. If you know how the inspection sector in oil and gas works you will understand the hassle in reporting radiography and Ultrasonic tests. But this software can help shorten the time it takes to get the results of those tests.
There is a lot the software can do that I can not even begin to put into writing, a lot of technicalities that I can’t even put in this post. I remember when I was working on the proposal that showed every single feature and it took over 50 pages LOL. So I can’t really get that here. However, now that it is out, I am super excited to bring it into the market in a couple of months. I have not finished getting all the technical details yet, but I’m pretty sure that by 2027 a number of companies will get to use my work.
