It’s no doubt that one of the major disadvantages of Artificial intelligence is the way it has made a lot of people lazy. In my opinion though, I do not think it makes people lazy. WHat I see is that it brings out the best and worst in people. Just like what money does to people, it brings out either the best or worst in them. A stingy man would not change when he has money, and a waster will not change because he does not have money. This is the same way a lazy person will see AI as a way to continue being lazy, and it’s very easy to spot such lazy people. Here on hive we see them almost on a daily basis. The way they give prompts to AI, the way they accept whatever AI gives them, the way they don’t pay attention to details because they want the easy way out, the way they think that since an AI can do it, then I can sleep. These are the things that make a person lazy. A hard working person on the other hand will be diligent even with the use of AI, at the end of the day after seeing their work, you will doubt it was done by AI because it would still carry all the emotion of a real person.

These are the reasons I do not believe AI is making us lazy, in fact, AI is making us more intelligent. If you doubt, try figuring out the best prompt for a complex project and see how easy it is, or try making your AI give you the correct answers when it starts misbehaving or hallucinating. It’s not often as easy as people try to make it look. They tell you that you can build a website in minutes, but if you are given a PC with a subscribed AI, you will understand how difficult it is to really create a prompt to give you the exact replica of what you had in mind. This is no easy job at all, and the only way to really know all these things is to really master AI, understand how the prompts works, understand how the algorithm thinks and learn the mind of a programmer. In truth, if we must really learn how to use AI, we must understand that AI is programming simplified, and if you do not understand how to really give commands to a computer, you will struggle in the real use of AI.
The lazy people have not unlocked up to 10% of the potential that AI offers, only the hard working ones can stand a chance to unlock its full potential and it is absolutely amazing. When people start learning how to really unlock the full potential of AI, we will realize that we would have been smarter than we are now and we will realize just how much we do not know. I do not believe AI makes people lazy, I still refuse to believe it because I have had to use it to work, and the result I get is absolutely amazing. Yes it saves me time but then, the mental work I have to put into my work to get the best result is not easy. If you see me working you might probably think it is easy, but in truth it is not as easy as I make it look, mastering is also a sign of hard work you know.
