A warm greeting, like the Cuban summer, to all this beautiful coffee-loving community. Today I come determined to speak "without mincing words". Because I want to confess what we all know, but none of us say, that when we meet for a coffee with friends, of course we do not mean just a coffee (without belittling the divine nectar), we are prepared to indulge in some little whims.
Here in Havana there are hundreds of places that offer delicious coffee of all kinds and varieties. But one of my favorite places to drink coffee and indulge in those little cravings is the Gran Añejo Lobby Bar at the Meliá Cohiba Hotel, the flagship hotel in Cuba's capital. In this place they surprise you with a tasty cappuccino, or delight you with a rich frapuccino.
I want to make it clear that not everyone is up to the task of accompanying a good coffee when it comes to sweets and snacks. They don't offer just any kind of candy, there are no palm trees here, they offer super palm trees. There are no ordinary doughnuts either, but super doughnuts.
But there are also options for chocolate fanatics, as they serve a fabulous brownie made with pure chocolate of the best quality. Although they are all delicious, my favorite is the cheesecake, even though I am an inveterate chocolate lover. The successful combination of the tartlet with the flavor of the cheese, and that exquisite touch that only lemon can give, have made me fall in love.
And yes, I confess that all these sweets go very well with the coffee that can be found in the Lobby Bar Gran Añejo, but there is only one truth and that is that no matter how hard you try, you can not get a better combination in the world than coffee with bread, and it is something that I will not discuss with anyone hahaha. For those who think similar to me, in this wonderful place they serve a super croissant, with a great dough and an incomparable flavor, which will leave you nothing to envy to any sweet.

Un saludo caluroso, como el verano de Cuba, para toda esta hermosa comunidad amante del café. Hoy vengo decidida a hablar “sin pelos en la lengua”, como decimos aquí en mi país cuando vamos a ser totalmente francos. Porque deseo confesar lo que todos sabemos, pero ninguno decimos, que cuando quedamos para un café con los amigos, por supuesto que no nos referimos a simplemente un café (sin menospreciar al divino néctar), vamos preparados para cumplirnos algunos caprichitos.
Aquí en La Habana hay cientos de lugares que ofertan café delicioso, de todos tipos y variedades. Pero uno de mis lugares favoritos para tomar café y darme esos antojitos es el Lobby Bar Gran Añejo del Hotel Meliá Cohiba, hotel insignia de la capital de Cuba. En este lugar lo mismo te sorprenden con un sabroso capuccino, que te deleitan con un rico frapuccino.
Quiero que quede claro que no cualquiera está a la altura de acompañar un buen café, cuando de dulces y snacks se trata. Justamente aquí no ofertan cualquier tipo de dulce, aquí no hay palmeras, aquí ofrecen súper palmeras. Tampoco hay donas comunes y corrientes, sino súper donas.
Pero también hay opciones para los fanáticos del chocolate, pues sirven un fabuloso brownie elaborado con puro chocolate de la mejor calidad. Aunque todos son deliciosos, mi favorito es el cheesecake, a pesar de que soy una empedernida amante del chocolate. La exitosa combinación de la tartaleta con el sabor del queso, y ese exquisito toque que solo sabe dar el limón, me han logrado enamorar.
Y sí, confieso que todos estos dulces maridan muy bien con la oferta de cafés que se puede hallar en el Lobby Bar Gran Añejo, pero hay una sola verdad y es que por más que se intente, no se podrá conseguir una mejor combinación en el mundo que el café con pan, y es algo que no pienso discutir con nadie jajaja. Para los que piensan similar a mí, en este maravilloso lugar sirven un súper croisant, con una masa estupenda y un sabor incomparable, que no te dejará nada que envidiarle a ningún dulce.
