I think one of the things nobody really prepares us for in life is how uncomfortable growth can be. Sometimes, we imagine growth as something beautiful that happens when everything starts falling into place. We picture ourselves becoming better, achieving our goals, making progress, and finally getting to where we want to be. But the truth is, growth doesn't always look that way. Sometimes, it comes with confusion, mistakes, disappointments, difficult decisions, and moments when you honestly don't know what you are doing.

There are times when I knew we needed to change something about myself but seriously making those changes are not really easy. There are some habits I want to let go and I know it is necessary but honestly I think those moments of making that decision are part of what makes growth challenging.
Sometimes, we become so comfortable with the way things are that trying something different feels frightening. We know we need to move forward, but the fear of failing or starting all over again keeps holding us back.I have also come to realise that growth requires patience.
There are times when i put in so much effort and expect things to change, but nothing seems to be happening. I look at other people and wonder why things appear to be working for them while I am still trying to figure things out but one thing I am learning is that not all progress is visible.
Sometimes, growth is simply being able to handle situations differently than you used to. Like learning to control your emotions, accepting correction without getting defensive, taking responsibility for your actions, or no longer feeling the need to please others.
For instance, I once had a sister I felt I couldn't do without. She was someone I could tell almost everything, including things I couldn't comfortably share with other people. I relied on her so much that I couldn't imagine going through certain days without talking to her.
But somehow, things changed. She suddenly stopped communicating with me like she used to. Whenever I sent her a message, she either ignored me or replied with just one word.
I tried several times to find out what was wrong, but she never gave me the chance. Eventually, I stopped trying and learned to carry on with my life. My phone became my companion, and I gradually got used to handling things on my own.
Looking back, I realised that I had always thought I couldn't live without her, but perhaps I had never given myself the chance to try. That experience taught me that you can love and miss someone without constantly chasing their attention. Sometimes, growth is learning to stand on your own, even when it means letting go of the comfort you once depended on.
Discomfort is necessary for personal growth, it is often part of the process, but I don't believe people must suffer before they can become better versions of themselves. We can also grow through positive experiences, good advice, education, healthy relationships, and learning from other people's mistakes.
I believe that staying comfortable all the time can limit us. Sometimes, we need to challenge ourselves, take risks, learn new things, and do things we have never done before. We cannot keep expecting different results while refusing to make changes.
But then, being uncomfortable doesn't mean we should tolerate disrespect or remain in situations that constantly hurt us. Sometimes, walking away, taking a break, or asking for help is also a sign of growth. We need to understand that becoming a better person is a continuous journey. There will be mistakes, lessons, and moments when we have to start again. What matters is our willingness to learn and make better choices.
So, if you are currently going through a difficult season, don't be too hard on yourself. You may not have everything figured out yet, and that is perfectly fine. Just keep learning and taking those little steps forward.
Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
