One thing life has taught me in a very painful way is that we should never wait until we have everything before we show love to the people who matter to us. Sometimes, we keep telling ourselves that we will do something for them when things get better, when we have enough money, or when we are finally in a position to give them the things they deserve.

But the truth is, we are never promised tomorrow. This is something I think about whenever I remember my dad. There was a time when I really wanted to do something meaningful for him. I wanted to make him happy, give him something from my own hands, and let him feel that all his efforts and sacrifices were not forgotten. I wanted to reach a point in my life where I could look at him and say, "Dad, I may not have had much before, but now I can do something for you too."
But life wasn't going the way I wanted. I didn't have enough to do the things I had in mind, and because of that, I kept postponing them. I would tell myself that when I had more money, I would do something for him, when things became easier, I would make him proud.
I thought I still had time to put everything together and give him something that would make him happy. I never imagined that one day, I would wish for just one more opportunity to do those things. Then my dad passed away.
Honestly, there are some kinds of pain that are difficult to explain. Losing someone you love is painful enough, but remembering all the things you wanted to do for them and never got the chance to do makes it even harder. After he died, I kept thinking about the things I had planned. All those times I told myself, "Not yet, maybe later," started coming back to me.
I wished I had understood earlier that I didn't need to wait until I had everything before showing him how much he meant to me. I wish I had realized that even if I couldn't afford the big things I had in mind, there were still little things I could have done. I could have spent more time with him, had more conversations with him, made him smile, or simply found small ways to show him that I cared.
But now, I can no longer go back and do those things. The hardest part is knowing that no matter how much I wish I could change the past, I cannot. I cannot call him and tell him what I wanted to do, I cannot ask him to give me a little more time and I cannot go back to those moments when he was still here and do things differently.
If there is one thing I have learned from this experience, it is that love should not always wait for the perfect moment. We sometimes think that what we have is too small to make someone happy, so we keep waiting until we can do something bigger. But we forget that the people who truly love us may not be expecting anything big from us.
Sometimes, our presence, attention, a simple gift, a kind word, or just spending time with them can mean more than we realize. I used to think I needed to have more before I could do something meaningful for my dad. Now, I understand that even the little I had could have been a way of showing my love. It didn't have to be perfect, it didn't have to be expensive, it just had to come from my heart. I am learning to live with that regret, even though I wish I didn't have to learn this lesson in such a painful way.
So, if you still have your parents, your loved ones, or someone who has genuinely been there for you, please don't keep postponing the little things you want to do for them. Don't wait until you become rich before you show them love. Don't wait until everything is perfect before you make that call, pay that visit, say those kind words, or share what little you have.
Life can change in ways we never expect, and sometimes, the opportunity we think will always be there may disappear before we are ready. I wish I had done more for my dad when I still had the chance. That is a feeling I cannot change now, but I hope my experience reminds someone else not to make the same mistake.
Sometimes, what we think is too small today becomes what we desperately wish we had given yesterday. May we learn to love people while they are still here, not only remember all the things we wanted to do for them when they are gone.
Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
