There are two different ways we can be remembered when we are no longer here. Some people will remember us and pray for us. They will remember the good things we did, the way we treated them, and the moments when we were there for them. They may even wish there were more people like us in the world.

Then there are people who will also be remembered, but not in the way anyone would want. Some people leave behind so much pain, disappointment, and bitterness that those who knew them may say, “I hope I never meet someone like that again.”
The way we behave today plays a big part in how we will be remembered tomorrow.
Sometimes, we think that leaving a legacy means becoming famous, making a lot of money, building a big business, or having our names written somewhere for people to see. But I don't think legacy is only about those things. For me, legacy is about the lives we touch while we are still here.
People may forget the clothes we wore, the phones we used, the cars we drove, or even some of the things we achieved. But they will hardly forget how we made them feel.
Someone may never forget the person who gave them water when they needed it the most. Someone may remember the friend who stayed with them during their darkest moment. Someone may remember a stranger who showed them kindness when everyone else ignored them. Even a simple word of encouragement can mean a lot in someone's life.
Sometimes, we don't even realize the impact of our small actions. You might tell someone, “Don't give up, you can do this,” and move on with your day without thinking much about it. But that person might hold on to those words for years. Maybe they were already thinking about giving up, and those few words gave them another reason to keep going. That is the kind of legacy I want to leave behind.
I want people to remember me as someone who cared. Someone who was willing to help when I could. Someone who encouraged others instead of pulling them down. Someone who could make people feel comfortable, valued, and respected. I don't want to be remembered simply because of what I had. I want to be remembered because of what I gave.
So, what can I start doing today to build the legacy I want to leave behind? I think I can start with the little things. I can be kinder with my words. I can listen when someone needs to talk. I can encourage someone who is struggling. I can help when I have the ability to help. I can learn to forgive. I can treat people with respect, regardless of their position or what they can do for me.
Most importantly, I can stop waiting for some big opportunity to make a difference. Life is happening now, and the people around me need kindness now because at the end of everything, I don't think people will only remember what we said about ourselves. They will remember how we treated them.
When my time comes and I am no longer here, I hope the people who knew me will have something good to say. I hope someone will remember a moment when I helped them, encouraged them, listened to them, or simply made their difficult day a little easier.
If people can remember me, smile, and say, “I wish there were more people like that,” then I believe I would have left behind a legacy worth having. Because in the end, our greatest legacy may not be what we leave behind in the world, but what we leave behind in people.
Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
