Life Is Not Equal for Everyone, and We Need to Accept That

We always say we are not moved by what we see, but honestly, are we really not moved?

As women, we all want good things for ourselves. We want to live a comfortable life, have peace of mind, be loved properly, and enjoy the things we have always dreamed of. We want to work hard and see the results of our efforts. We want to look at our lives one day and feel happy that we didn't give up.

But sometimes, life happens differently from the way we imagined it.

You can be happy for another woman and still wish you had some of the things she has. You can genuinely celebrate someone's success and still ask yourself when things will get better for you. I don't think that makes you a bad person. It simply means you are human.

Sometimes, you open your phone and see someone buying a house, getting married, travelling to beautiful places, or enjoying a life you have been praying for. You smile, congratulate them, and keep scrolling, but somewhere in your heart, you start thinking about your own life.

You begin to ask yourself questions. Am I doing enough? Have I made the right decisions? Why does it seem like things are working for everyone else while I am still trying to figure things out? I believe many women have had moments like this, even if they don't talk about it.

The truth is that we all want the best for ourselves, but life does not give everyone the same opportunities. Some people have support from their families, some have partners who make life easier for them, and some have to figure out almost everything on their own. Some people get opportunities early, while others keep trying for years before something finally works out.

And that is one thing we need to understand, life is not equal for everyone. Sometimes, two people can work equally hard and still get different results. One person may have help along the way, while the other has to struggle just to get to the same point. It may not always seem fair, but that is the reality we live in.

As women, we should also learn not to put unnecessary pressure on ourselves because of what we see other women achieving. There is nothing wrong with wanting a good marriage, financial stability, a beautiful home, or a better life. Those are normal desires, but the problem starts when we begin to feel that we are not doing well simply because our lives don't look like someone else's.

Getting married before your friend doesn't automatically mean you have won in life. Having more money than another woman doesn't make you more valuable than her. And being in a difficult season doesn't mean you have failed.

We all have different stories, and sometimes what we see is only a small part of what someone is going through. Every beautiful picture doesn't tell the full story.

I am learning that it is okay to desire more while appreciating what I have. It is okay to admire another person's progress without making myself feel small, and it is okay to admit that I want certain things in life without pretending that I don't care about them.

We don't have to pretend to be strong every time. Sometimes, we get tired, sometimes, we wish things were easier. Sometimes, we just want a little break from struggling and I think it is okay to admit that too.

What matters is that we don't allow those feelings to make us hate our lives or make decisions we may regret later. So, wherever you are in life right now, please give yourself some grace. Keep working towards the things you want, but don't forget to live and appreciate the little things you already have.

Your journey may be slower than you expected, and you may not have everything you desire right now. That doesn't mean you should give up on yourself at the same time, don't be ashamed to admit that you want a better life. There is nothing wrong with wanting more.

We just need to remember that we are not all starting from the same place, and we will not all arrive at the same time. Let's learn to celebrate others without looking down on ourselves. Life may not be equal for everyone, but we can still learn to be kinder to ourselves as we find our own way.
