I believe marriage should be about two people building a life together, not one person using their sacrifices to control the other. When you love someone, you should want to see them grow, you should be happy when they make progress, become more confident, and discover better things about themselves. Their growth should be something you celebrate, not something that makes you feel threatened.

Sadly, not everyone sees marriage this way, some people believe that because they provided for their partner, supported them during difficult times, or helped them become who they are today, they have earned the right to treat them anyhow. Whenever there is an argument, they bring up everything they have done, as if their partner must remain forever indebted to them.

But love should not work that way. Yes, marriage requires sacrifice. There will be times when one person gives more than the other, one partner might carry most of the financial responsibility while the other takes care of different needs at home. Life is not always balanced, and that is understandable.

What matters is how both people treat each other through those seasons. Your sacrifices should come from love, not from a desire to gain power over someone. If you help your partner stand on their feet, you should not later make them feel guilty for becoming independent. If you support their dreams, you should not use that support to remind them that they would be nothing without you.

Let's think about it for a second, what is the point of helping someone grow only to make them feel small whenever you have a disagreement? Marriage should be a place where both partners feel safe enough to express themselves, make mistakes, learn, and become better people. You may not always agree on everything, but disagreements should not become opportunities to attack each other's worth.Your partner is not your competitor.

Their success does not reduce your value, and their strength does not make you weak. You are supposed to be on the same team .Of course, nobody is perfect, we e all have moments when we feel unappreciated or believe we are doing more than our fair share. Those feelings deserve honest conversations, not constant reminders of past sacrifices.

Marriage is not about who has done more or who has the final say. It is about two people choosing to stand by each other, even when life gets difficult. If your partner becomes better because you are in their life, be grateful that you could be part of their journey. Don't become the reason they begin to doubt themselves.

Love should give people room to grow, not make them afraid of becoming more than they used to be. After all, the goal is not to raise a partner who feels they can never survive without you, it is to build a relationship where both of you can stand strong individually and still choose to walk through life together.

Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
