There is something we need to understand about this life and it's that there is no shortcut to success. No matter how badly we want a better life, there are certain things we must go through to get there. Sometimes the journey is slow, sometimes it's frustrating, and sometimes it gets so lonely that we begin to wonder if all the sacrifices we are making will actually be worth it.

Everybody wants to be successful, we all want to live comfortably, achieve our dreams, make our families proud and enjoy the good things life has to offer. But the truth is, not everybody is ready for the process that comes with it.
We see people celebrating their achievements, growing their businesses, getting good jobs, travelling and living the lives they have always wanted. We admire them, and sometimes we wish our own breakthrough would come quickly too. But we don't always see what happened before those beautiful moments.
We don't see the sleepless nights, the disappointments, the failed attempts, the financial struggles or the many times they had to encourage themselves when nobody else believed in them and one part of this journey that I think people hardly talk about is loneliness.
Sometimes, chasing your dreams means missing out on things you would genuinely love to be part of. Your friends are going out, having fun and making memories, but you have to stay back because there is something you need to work on. You receive invitations, but you turn them down because you have deadlines to meet or responsibilities to handle and that is what success journey is likee.
Sometimes, the journey to success makes you become distant from people you once shared everything with. Not because you suddenly stopped caring about them, but because life has become so demanding that finding time for everything feels almost impossible.
But the painful part is that not everyone will understand. Some people will think you have changed, some may feel you are intentional, some may feel you are no longer interested in the friendship. Meanwhile, you are just trying to put your life together. You are trying to create opportunities for yourself and build a future that is better than your present situation.
There are also those quiet moments when you feel tired of everything. You look at how far you still have to go, compare your progress with others and start questioning yourself. You wonder when things will finally fall into place. Sometimes, you even miss the old days when you had fewer responsibilities and could enjoy simple things without constantly thinking about tomorrow but then, you remind yourself why you started.
There is no shortcut, you can not rush every process. Some things take time, and sometimes you have to be patient enough to grow through situations you never planned for. However, I also believe that while we are busy chasing success, we shouldn't completely forget to live.
Yes, sacrifices are necessary. Yes, there will be seasons when you have to work harder, stay focused and make difficult decisions. But I don't think we should get to a point where we lose every meaningful relationship, neglect our health and forget how to enjoy life.
People grow, circumstances change, and sometimes our paths naturally separate, that is understandable. But we should also learn to appreciate the genuine people who stand by us, even when we don't have much to offer.
Check on your friends when you can. Spend time with family. Take a break when you need one. Celebrate the little progress you make, even when the big breakthrough hasn't come yet and please, don't feel like you are failing because your journey is taking longer than someone else's.
We all have different starting points, different struggles and different timelines. The road to success is not always smooth. Sometimes it's lonely, sometimes it's discouraging, and sometimes we will have to walk through certain seasons with very little support. But I hope we don't become so consumed by the desire to succeed that we forget the things that make life meaningful.
Because, honestly, I don't just want to be successful, I want to enjoy the success too. I want to have beautiful memories, genuine relationships, peace of mind and people I can laugh with when everything I've worked for finally comes together. There may be no shortcut to success, but I hope we remember that life is not just about the destination, the journey matters too.
Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
