Sometimes I just sit and look at my children, especially when they are sleeping, and I find myself thinking, “When did they get this big?”

It honestly feels like yesterday when they were so tiny and needed me for almost everything. Now, they are growing into their own little people, with their own personalities, opinions, funny habits, and ways of doing things.

I know they are supposed to grow. I know one day they will leave the house, have their own friends, their own homes, their own families and their own lives. That is the whole point, isn't it? We raise them so they can eventually stand on their own.

But sometimes, I wish I could slow everything down just a little. I want to remember these days properly.

Not just the big moments like birthdays, first days of school, graduations or other things we take pictures of. I mean the really ordinary stuff.

The silly conversations, the way they call my mommy from another room. The little hugs that happen for no particular reason. The arguments over things that seem so important to them but make me want to laugh. Their sleepy faces in the morning, the noise in the house, even the mess.

I know there will probably come a time when I will miss all of it.

Right now, some days are exhausting. There are days when I feel like I have repeated the same instructions a hundred times. There are days when I just want five minutes of peace and quiet.

But I also know these days won't last forever. One day the house may be quieter.

They won't need me to do so many things for them. They may not call me as often. They may be too busy with their own lives to tell me every little thing that happened during their day just as are now.

I don't need them to stay little forever. I don't want to stop them from growing or becoming independent. I want them to become strong, happy and confident adults. I want them to chase their dreams, make mistakes, learn from them and build lives they are proud of.

I just hope I get to see some of it. I want to be there when they discover what they are good at. I want to celebrate their wins, but I also want to be there on the days when things don't work out.

I want to be the person they can call when they have good news. And hopefully, also the person they can call when they don't know what to do.

Before we know it, they will bigger. Maybe that is why I am beginning to understand that time with them is something I should never take for granted.

Sometimes we spend so much time waiting for the next stage that we forget we are already living a stage we may someday miss.

So I'm trying to slow down, I'm trying to listen a little longer, I'm trying not to rush every hug, I'm trying to notice the small things, because maybe those small things are actually the big things.

And when they are grown and living their own lives, I hope they look back and remember one thing clearly, Their mum loved them, she was there. And she was always cheering for them, even when they didn't realize it.

Thank for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
