WHAT WAS LIFE LIKE BEFORE REALITY HIT?

When I was younger, I had a very simple picture of what I thought my life would look like. Back then, all I was always thinking about was finishing secondary school, getting admission into the university, and becoming a doctor or a nurse. I imagined myself having a good career, living a comfortable life, enjoying the good things life had to offer, and simply being happy.

I thought that once I finished school, everything else would somehow fall into place. I believed that with determination and hard work, I would achieve my dreams and live the kind of life I had always imagined.

I didn't really understand how difficult life could become. I didn't understand the responsibilities that came with becoming an adult or how quickly things could change.

Then, suddenly, adulthood hit, and the reality I met was completely different from the reality I had imagined when I was younger.

One of the hardest things was realizing that there was no one standing behind me the way I had hoped. There was no strong support system to carry me through the difficult moments. Suddenly, I had to start making decisions for myself, facing challenges on my own, and figuring out how to survive and move forward.

It was no longer just about going to school, getting good grades, and achieving my dreams. Life became about responsibilities, finances, expectations, disappointments, and making difficult choices. There were moments when I had to put some of my dreams aside simply because life demanded something different from me.

Sometimes, I look back at the younger version of myself and wonder what she would think if she could see my life now. Would she be disappointed that everything didn't happen the way she imagined? Would she understand why some dreams had to change?

The truth is, life didn't turn out exactly the way I planned. But life has taught me something I could never have learned as a child, sometimes, the journey is very different from the destination we imagined.

I have learned that not everyone will be there to support you, sometimes you have to become your own support system. I also learned that being strong doesn't mean you don't cry, feel tired, get disappointed, or wonder what happened to the dreams you once had.

Being strong means you keep going even when things don't look the way you imagined.

Reality has also taught me that it is okay to change the plans. It is okay if the little girl who dreamed of becoming a doctor or a nurse doesn't have exactly the same path today. Dreams can change, circumstances can change, and life can take us in directions we never expected.

What matters is that we don't completely lose ourselves along the way.

Before reality hit, I thought life was about finishing school, getting a good career, enjoying life, and having everything figured out.

Now I know that life is much more complicated than that. Sometimes you have to start again. Sometimes you have to walk alone and sometimes you have to accept that the life you imagined isn't the life you are currently living.

But even then, there is still hope, I may not be where the younger version of me thought I would be, but I am still here. I am still learning, I am still growing, I am still dreaming.

And perhaps that is what reality has taught me most, life may not always give us what we planned for, but we can still choose to make something meaningful out of what we have been given.

The little girl who once believed life would be simple didn't know what was coming. But the woman I'm becoming knows something now that she didn't know then. Life is not always about getting the life you imagined. Sometimes, it is about finding the strength to keep building a life worth living, even after everything changes.

Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
