Grancia Park: A Mix of Nature, Education, Culture and History and a Beautiful Historical Cine-Show

On my Hive blog I mainly publish content related to Hive and Hive games because they are two of my passions.

Today I change the topic because I share the beautiful and positive experience I spent on August 24, 2024 together with my family and together with a group of friends at the beautiful Grancia Park which is located in Italy and precisely in the Basilicata region which is one of the greenest and least populated regions in Italy.

The Grancia Park is a park that covers a very large area of about 50 hectares, in 1700 it was managed by lay monks and in 1925 it became the property of the Italian state.

Today, the Grancia Park is a beautiful place and in summer it also becomes a tourist attraction because within this naturalistic setting it is possible to:

• participate in educational laboratories

• see falconry shows

• see the agricultural tools that farmers used many years ago

• see the History Bandit, the Grancia Show, which is a revised retelling of the story of the Brigand Carmine Crocco (who really existed) in which more than 300 figurants participate.

Grancia Park is about 15Km distance from the city where I live but I had not visited it for more than 10 years and was very pleased for me to return.

We arrived at the park by car in the afternoon of August 24, and after parking we descended a long stone staircase.

After picking up the tickets we had reserved, we entered the park.
At the entrance to the park there is a little animal farm.

After a few steps, we encountered a beautiful donkey on which children can climb and ride part of the park but we petted the donkey and continued on.

About 200 meters from the park entrance there is an area used as a sharecropper's museum where you can see and touch farm tools that farmers used many years ago.

After the sharecropper's museum, there is another stone staircase along which you reach the first educational workshop: the painting workshop.

Next to the painting workshop is the refreshment area where food and drinks can be purchased.

We arrived in this area of the park when the show of falconry had already begun, and quickening our pace we headed into the first amphitheater in the park.

I watched the flight of falcons, vultures and two beautiful eagles.

The most beautiful part of this show was seeing two eagle rays of 13 and 20 years of age take flight from the top of the mountain above the amphitheater and arrive in the amphitheater.

The photos of the flight of the two eagles I took from the video I recorded that day and I would have liked to share my video in this post but I have yet to learn how to use 3speak so I hope to do that in the next few days because seeing the eagles in flight in the video is much more exciting than seeing them in photos.

After the aquile show we moved to another area to participate in the bees and beekeeping educational workshop.

It was interesting to hear directly from a beekeeper about bees, propolis, and pollen and especially to be reminded of how important bees are to our ecosystem.

After a short break to eat a sandwich and drink a beer, we lined up to enter the Cineshow area of the Grancia.

We took our seats on the large bleachers that can hold up to 3500 spectators.

The cine show takes place in a very large area where the scenery consists of a mountain, a lake, a stone arch, two small houses, and the vegetation of the Grancia forest.

The three hundred figures told the story of Carmine Crocco, one of the best-known brigands of the Italian Risorgimento period whose deeds and exploits place him between evil and good because for some historians he was a outlaw while for others he was a people's hero.

The story of Carmine Crocco in the Grancia kinescape is a sad story because it does not have a happy ending.
The show tells the story of this brigand from the time he was a child, 1830, until his arrest which occurred in 1864, a life of suffering and war.

I think the pictures are enough to show the beauty and uniqueness of this spectacle.

The show started at 9:30 p.m. and lasted almost two hours, and it was great to see so many actors acting on such a large natural stage between music, fireworks and light games projected onto trees, mountains and even onto splashes of water on which the words Love and Freedom were projected at the end of the show.

Visiting Grancia Park was really a great experience because this park offers so much to see and so many things to do and in fact the time passed very pleasantly from the afternoon until the night when the show ended.

However, the visit to the park has a fairly high cost in my opinion because adults pay 36 euros and for a family of 4-5 people it can be too high an expense to bear.
A park as beautiful as this one should also equip itself to facilitate the access of strollers and wheelchairs because although it is not recommended on the site to bring strollers, this is something that should be reevaluated.

Parco della Grancia: Natura, Laboratori Didattici e un Bellissimo Cine-Spettacolo

Sul mio Hive blog pubblico spesso contenuti relativi ad Hive e agli Hive games perchè sono due delle mie passioni.
Oggi cambio argomento perchè condivido la bella e positiva esperienza che ho trascorso il 24 agosto 2024 insieme alla mia famiglia e insieme ad un gruppo di amici al bellissimo Parco della Grancia che si trova in Italia e precisamente nella regione Basilicata che è una delle regioni più verdi e meno popolate dell'Italia.

Il parco della Grancia è un parco che si estende su un territorio molto vasto di circa 50 ettari, nel 1700 era gestito dai monaci laici e nel 1925 è diventanto di proprietà dello stato italiano.

Oggi il parco della Grancia è un luogo bellissimo e in estate diventa anche un luogo di attrazione turistica perchè all'interno di questo scenario naturalistico è possibile:

• partecipare a laboratori didattici

• assistere a spettacoli di falconeria

• vedere gli attrezzi agricoli che utilizzavano i contandini tanti anni fa

• vedere la Storia Bandita, il Cinespettacolo della Grancia, che è una narrazione rivisitata della storia del brigante Carmine Crocco (realmente esistito) a cui partecipano oltre 300 figuranti.

Il parco della Grancia si trova a circa 15Km dalla città in cui vivo ma non lo visitavo da più di 10 anni e mi ha fatto molto piacere tornarci.

Siamo arrivati al parco in macchina nel pomeriggio del 24 agosto e dopo aver parcheggiato abbiamo sceso una lunga scalinata in pietra.

Dopo aver ritirato i biglietti che avevamo prenotato siamo entrati nel parco.
All'ingresso del pacro c'è la fattoria degli animali.

Dopo pochi passi abbiamo incontrato un bellissimo asinello sul quale i bambini possono salire e percorrere una parte del parco ma noi abbiamo accarezzato l'asinello e abbiamo proseguito.

A circa 200 metri dall'ingresso del parco c'è un area adibita a Museo del mezzadro dove è possibile vedere e toccare gli attrezzi agricoli che i contadini usavano molti anni fa.

Dopo il museo del mezzadro c'è un'altra scalinata in pietra lungo la quale si arriva al primo laboratorio didattico: il laboratorio di pittura.

Vicino al laboratorio di pittura c'è l'area di ristoro in cui è possibile acquistare cibi e bevande.

Siamo arrivati in questa zona del parco quando lo spettacolo di falconeria era giù iniziato e accellerando il passo ci siamo diretti nel primo anfiteatro presente nel parco.

Ho assistito al volo di falchi, avvoltoi e due bellissime acquile.

La parte più bella di questo spettacolo è stato vedere due acquile di 13 e 20 anni di età spiccare il volo dalla cima della montagna sopra l'anfiteatro e arrivare nell'anfiteatro.

Le foto del volo delle due acquile le ho prese dal video che ho registrato quel giorno e mi sarebbe piaciuto condividere il mio video in questo post ma devo ancora imparare a utilizzare 3speak e quindi spero di farlo nei prossimi giorni perchè vedere le acquile in volo nel video è molto più emozionante che vederle in foto.

Dopo lo spettacolo delle acquile ci siamo spostati in un'altra zona per partecipare al laboratorio didattico sulle api e sull'apicultura.

E' stato interessante ascoltare direttamente da un apicoltore le nozioni su api, propoli e polline e soprattutto ricordarsi di quanto sono importanti le api per il nostro ecosistema.

Dopo una breve pausa per mangiare un panino e bere una birra ci siamo messi in fila per accedere all'area del Cinespettacolo della Grancia.

Abbiamo preso posto sulla grande gradinata che può contenere fino a 3500 spettatori.

Il cine spettacolo si svolge in un'area molto grande in cui la scenografia è costituita da una montagna, un lago, un arco in pietra, due casette e la vegetazione della foresta della Grancia.

I trecento figuranti hanno raccontato la storia di Carmine Crocco, uno dei briganti più noti del periodo risorgimentale italiano le cui gesta e imprese lo pongono tra il male e il bene perchè per alcuni storici è stato un fuorilegge mentre per altri è stato un eroe popolare.

La storia di Carmine Crocco nel cinespettacolo della Grancia è una storia triste perchè non ha un lieto fine.
Lo spettacolo racconta la storia di questo brigante da quando era un bambino, 1830, fino al suo arresto che è avvenuto nel 1864, una vita fatta di sofferenze e guerre.

Penso che le immagini sono sufficienti a mostrare la bellezza e la particolarità di questo spettacolo.

Lo spettacolo è durato quasi due ore ed è stato bello vedere tanti attori recitare su un palco naturale così grande tra musica, fuochi di artificio e giochi di luce proiettati su alberi, montagne e anche su spruzzi d'acqua sul quale alla fine dello spettacolo è stata proiettata la scritta Amore e Libertà.

Visitare il parco della Grancia è stata davvero una bella esperienza perchè questo parco offre tanto da vedere e tante cose da fare e infatti il tempo è passato molto piacevolmente dal pomeriggio fino alla sera quando lo spettaccolo è finito.

La visita al Parco ha però un costo secondo me abbastanza alto perchè gli adulti pagano 36 euro e per una famiglia di 4-5 persone può essere una spesa troppo alta da sostenere.
Un parco bello come questo dovrebbe anche attrezzarsi per facilitare l'accesso di passeggini e sedie a rotelle perchè, anche se nel sito è sconsigliato di portare passeggini, questo è un aspetto che andrebbe rivalutato.
