Time to Test a Bot in the Wild Format

+ My End of Season Results and New Season Goals

I play on Splinterlands since September 2019 and until now I have played more than 36K battles without using bots because I enjoy playing manually on Splinterlands but only against real players like me and for this reason since bots were banned from Modern Format and confined to Wild Format I decided to play only in Modern Format.

In order to build a competitive card collection in the Modern Format I sold most of my Beta and Untamed cards just before they came out of the Modern Format.

Considering the trend in the market value of the cards that came out of Modern Format my strategy was an excellent one.

After the favorable vote on the anticipated release of the new set of Conclave Arcana cards I would have to plan and implement the same strategy for my Chaos Legion and Riftwatchers cards because in May 2025 they will come out of Modern Format and can only be used in Wild Format.

Although selling my Chaos Legion cards a month before the release of the new card set might once again be a right and logical choice, this time I am thinking and considering keeping all my Chaos Legion cards for two reasons:

  • I get tired of being forced to sell my favorite cards every time they come out of Modern Format

  • I hope @yabapmatt will honor his promise and think in the shortest time possible of a way to restore usefulness to the old cards that can be used in the Wild Format

In my collection I have:

  • 116 cards = 2160 BCX usable in the Wild Format (estimated value: $806.87)

  • 676 cards = 19145 BCX usable in the Modern Format (estimated value: 1712$ )

When Chaos Legion and Riftwatchers cards will come out of Modern Format my current situation will be reversed because I will have:

  • 680 cards usable in the Wild Format
  • 112 cards usable in the Modern Format.

I would like even now to use my old cards to play manually in the Wild Format as well but the Wild Format is the realm of bots and I consider it unfun and also without logical sense to play against bots more efficient than me.

Today, out of curiosity, I went to see how many real players finished in the top 10 positions in the rankings of the last completed season in the Wild Format.

There is no real player in the top 10 positions in the Wild Format because they all use a bot!

Out of curiosity I went to check if the last awarded position uses a bot and again the answer was yes.

I have not checked all the awarded positions in the Wild Format leaderboard and maybe I will do so in my next post but at this point I think it is very likely that there are only bots awarded in the Wild Format.

How sad to see a beautiful game like Splinterlands become an idle game in the Wild Format...

Is creating a league just for bots really such a difficult choice to make?

If when the new set of cards will be released I decide not to sell my Chaos Legion cards I will use them in the Wild Format and I will be forced to use a bot too and for that reason from next season I will test and use a bot in the Wild Format to use my Beta and Untamed cards.

If in my test the rewards in SPS will be higher than the cost of the Wild Pass + the decrease of my gain in SPS in the Modern Format because I will delegate part of my SPS to another account that will play with the bot in the Wild Format I will continue to use the bot in the Wild Format otherwise not but in any case my test will be very useful for me to have more elements to decide what to do with my cards when the release of the new set of cards will be close.

Regarding my game activity and progress in the Modern Format, in the last completed season I improved my win rate from the previous season but played a much smaller number of battles.

For playing only 255 battles, I achieved only one of the goals I set out to achieve at the beginning of the season:

  • First goal: to reach the Diamond II league in the Modern Format (goal achieved)

  • second goal: accumulate at least 160K GLINT (goal not achieved because I accumulated a total of 120K GLINT)

I started the new season in league Gold I with 120K GLINT to spend in the Glint Shop.

I spent 60K Glint to purchase 400 Common Draw

My Opening Link

Thanks to the cards I found in the 400 Common Draw, I increased the level of 8 soulbound reward cards out of 8.

Now I have almost all Rebellion Reward common cards at level 8 because only Luceheim Demon is at level 7.

I also purchased 100 Rarity Draws but in order to make this purchase I first converted my Rebellion Reward Gold cards to GLINT because I would rather have higher level regular cards than lower level Gold cards that I would not use in battles.

To purchase 100 Rarity Draw I spent a total of 75000 Glint.

I increased the level of the 8 rare cards that you can see highlighted in the next image.

With increasing level my Rebellion Reward cards are starting to be interesting and I have started using them in battle even though I almost always prefer to use my cards from the Chaos Legion and Riftwatchers sets because they are top level and have stronger average stats and are useful in battle.

For example, in a recent battle with Little League and Wands Out rulesets I used Dark Arborist of level 4. Dark Arborist was not the strongest card in the battle but thanks to two magic attack points and the Magic Reflect ability it was useful in battle.

Another Rebellion Reward card that I have started using in battle is Halaran Huntress of level 8.
I prefer to use Halaran Huntress in battles that have the Little League and Heartquake rulesets but also in other battles it can be useful such as in the battle with the Silenced Summoner, Lost Legendaries and Broken Arrows rulesets that I played today and you can watch by clicking on the next link.

Thanks to the cards I found in the draws I made progress in upgrading Rebellion Soulbound cards:

  • Common cards: 51% -> 60%

  • Rare cards: 33% -> 41%

I like to set higher and higher goals, and in the current season my seasonal goals are:

  • play at least 360 battles
  • to arrive in the Diamond I league
  • earn at least 160K Glint

Before concluding this post I want to show two positive signs concerning Splinterlands assets.

A few days ago** the DEC token came very close to its peg**.

La mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi su Splinterlands

Gioco su Splinterlands dal mese di settembre del 2019 e fino ad oggi ho giocato più di 36K battaglie senza usare bots perchè mi diverto a giocare manualmente su Splinterlands ma solo contro giocatori reali come me e per questo motivo da quando i bots sono stati bannati dal Modern Format e confinati nel Wild Format ho deciso di giocare solo nel Modern Format.

Per costruirmi una collezione di carte competitiva nel Modern Format ho venduto buona parte delle mie carte Beta e Untamed poco prima che uscissero dal Modern Format.

Considerando l'andamento del valore di mercato delle carte che sono uscite dal Modern Format la mia strategia è stata una ottima strategia.

Dopo il voto favorevole sul rilascio anticipato del nuovo set di carte Conclave Arcana dovrei pianificare e attuare la stessa strategia per le mie carte Chaos Legion e Riftwatchers perchè a maggio 2025 usciranno dal Modern Format e potranno essere utilizzate solo nel Wild Format.

Anche se vendere le mie carte Chaos Legion un mese prima del rilascio del nuovo set di carte potrebbe essere ancora una volta una scelta giusta e logica, questa volta sto pensando e valutando di tenere tutte le mie carte Chaos Legion per due motivi:

  • mi sono stancato di essere costretto a vendere le mie carte preferite ogni volta che escono dal Modern Format
  • spero che @yabapmatt mantenga la sua promessa e pensi nel breve tempo possibile a un modo per ridare utilità alle vecchie carte utilizzabili nel Wild Format

Oggi, per curiosità, sono andato a vedere quanti giocatori reali sono arrivati nelle prime 10 posizioni nella classifica dell'ultima stagione conclusa nel Wild Format.

Non c'è nessun giocatore reale nelle prime 10 posizioni nel Wild Format perchè tutti utilizzano un bot!

Per curiosità sono andato a controllare se se l'ultima posizione premiata utilizza un bot e anche in questo caso la risposta è stata affermativa.

Non ho controllato tutte le posizioni premiate della leaderboard del Wild Format e forse lo farò in un mio prossimo post ma a questo punto penso è molto probabile che ci siano solo bots premiati nel Wild Format.

Che tristezza vedere un bel gioco come Splinterlands diventare un idle game nel Wild Format...

Creare una lega solo per i bots è davvero una scelta così difficile da prendere?

Se quando verrà rilasciato il nuovo set di carte deciderò di non vendere le mie carte Chaos Legion le utilizzerò nel Wild Format e sarò costretto ad utilizzare anche io un bot e per questo motivo dalla prossima stagione farò un test e utilizzerò un bot nel Wild Format per utilizzare le mie carte Beta e Untamed.

Se nel mio test le ricompense in SPS saranno superiori al costo del Wild Pass + la diminuzione del mio guadagno in SPS nel Modern Format perchè delegherò parte dei miei SPS ad un alt account che giocherà con il bot nel Wild Format continuerò ad usare il bot nel Wild Format anche perchè il guadagno che sto ottenendo dal noleggio delle mie Wild cards è davvero basso.

Per quanto riguarda la mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nel Modern Format, nell'ultima stagione conclusa ho migliorato il mio win rate rispetto alla stagione precedente ma ho giocato un numero di battaglie molto inferiore.

Per aver giocato solo 255 battaglie ho raggiunto solo uno degli obiettivi che mi ero posto di raggiungere all'inizio della stagione:

  • primo obiettivo: raggiungere la lega Diamond II nel Modern Format (obiettivo raggiunto)

  • secondo obiettivo: accumulare almeno 160K GLINT (obiettivo non raggiunto perchè ho accumulato in totale 120K GLINT)

Ho iniziato la nuova stagione in lega Gold I con 120K GLINT da spendere nel Glint Shop.

Ho speso 60K Glint per acquistare 400 Common Draw

Grazie alle carte che ho trovato nei 400 Common Draw ho aumentato il livello di 8 carte reward soulbound su 8.

Adesso ho quasi tutte le carte Rebellion Reward comuni al livello 8 perchè solo Luceheim Demon è al livello 7.

Ho acquistato anche 100 Rarity Draws ma per poter fare questo acquisto ho prima convertito in GLINT le mie carte Rebellion Reward Gold perchè preferisco avere carte regular di livello più alto che carte Gold di livello più basso che non utilizzerei nelle battaglie.

Per acquistare 100 Rarity Draw ho speso in totale 75000 Glint.

Ho aumentato il livello delle 8 carte rare che puoi vedere evidenziate nella prossima immagine.

Con l'aumentare del livello le mie carte Rebellion Reward iniziano ad essere interessanti e ho iniziato ad usarle in battaglia anche se preferisco qausi sempre usare le mie carte dei set Chaos Legion e Riftwatchers perchè sono di massimo livello e hanno statistiche mediamente più forti e utili in battaglia.

Ad esempio in una mia recente battaglia con le rulesets Little League e Wands Out ho utilizzato Dark Arborist di livello 4. Dark Arborist non è stata la carta più forte della battaglia ma grazie a due punti di attacco magico e l'abilità Magic Reflect è stata comunque molto utile in battaglia.

Un'altra carta Rebellion Reward che ho iniziato ad utilizzare in battaglia è Halaran Huntress di livello 8.
Preferisco utilizzare Halaran Huntress nelle battaglie che hanno le rulesets Little League e Heartquake ma anche in altre battaglie può essere utile come ad esempio nella battaglia con le ruleset Silenced Summoner, Lost Leggendaries e Broken Arrows che ho giocato oggi e che puoi guardare cliccando sul prossimo link.

Prima di concludere questo post voglio mostrare due segnali positivi che riguardano gli assets di Splinterlands.
