Time to Power Up: Selling My HBD for More Hive Power!
Hive is a Delegate Proof of Stake (DPOS) blockchain in which lives a large ecosystem of projects, applications, tools, games and communities that is constantly evolving and expanding.
On Hive there are two tokens, HIVE and HBD and then there is the Hive Power (HP) which measures a user's influence on Hive.

The word Stake is present in the definition of Hive's structure (Delegate Proof of Stake (DPOS) blockchain).
This is why stake is an important element on Hive and propensity to staking = increasing one's Hive Power is an objective indicator of an account's interest in Hive.
On Hive my main focus has always been and is increasing my Hive Power because Hive is my favorite blockchain and because there are so many activities I like to do on Hive:
- posting contents on my Hive blog
- reading other Hive authors' posts
- commenting and interacting with other Hive authors
- supporting other Hive authors with my upvotes
- play Hive-based games
- support Hive-based projects that I like
- vote for DHF proposals
- vote for witnesses
- ....
All the activities I listed above are positively affected (although in different ways) by my Hive Power and that is why I want to have more and more Hive Power.
The HBD token has 3 use cases:

it can be put into savings to receive an APR = 15%.

The HIVE token has many more use cases if put into staking = Hive Power.
Hive Power (HP) has an APR = about 13% (staking + curation) but has much more value/utility for me than HBD!
On Hive I am an active author in publishing and interaction and increasing my Hive Power is for me a natural and also logical choice because I see a lot of potential in Hive and because the current value of the HIVE token is for me very underestimated considering the many utilities the Hive blockchain has (this is my personal opinion = not a financial advice).
My strategy related to HIVE tokens and HBD tokens is driven by the market value of the HIVE token.
The average value of the HIVE token over the past 5 years is = $0.43312
Today the HIVE token has a market value = 0.2441$.

The market value of the HIVE token influences my choice regarding the payment of my post rewards.
When the value of the HIVE token is less than $0.40 I put the payment of the rewards of my posts: 100% Hive Power.
When the value of the HIVE token is more than $0.40 I put the payment of the rewards of my posts: 50% Hive Power and 50% HBD.
When HIVE exceeded the value of $0.40 in January I accumulated HBD in my wallet.
Today I chose to convert my liquid HBDs to HIVE with the goal of making a good Power Up during the next Hive Power Up day (April 1, 2025)
There are several options for converting HBD to HIVE and in this post I show you some options for doing the HBD->HIVE conversion and also show you my final choice.
The most immediate and easiest option to convert HBD to HIVE is to use the Convert feature found in many Hive wallets.
This conversion option requires 3.5 days and is particularly advantageous over immediate conversion if:

the HBD token has a value > $1 and holds it for 3.5 days

the value of the HIVE token remains stable or decreases during the 3.5 days required for conversion.
To do the immediate HBD->HIVE conversion you can use Hive's internal market or different tools.
If I use https://wallet.hive.blog/market to sell 220.40 HBD at the lowest selling price I receive about 899.63 HIVE
I can also use the useful swap functionality accessible from the wallet at:

By converting 220.40 HBD today, I could receive an estimated amount of HIVE between 887.44 HIVE and 892.66 HIVE.
To convert my HBD to HIVE I chose to make a purchase offer (= limit order).
To make this purchase offer, I used https://hivehub.dev/market/advanced
If the market value of HIVE drops to $0.235 I will receive 937.87 HIVE in exchange for 220.40 HBD.
If in 24 hours my purchase order is not accepted, I will raise my purchase order to a value of HIVE = $0.24 which will be more likely to be accepted by some HIVE seller.
If my purchase offer is accepted I will have obtained more HIVE than the immediate conversion today March 28, 2025.
If in the coming days the HIVE token increases in value I will have made the wrong choice.
One way or another I hope to make a Hive Power Up of at least 1000 HP during the next Hive Power Up Day!

Per questo motivo lo stake è un elemento importante su Hive e la propensione allo staking = aumentare il proprio Hive Power è un indicatore oggettivo dell'interesse che un account ha per Hive.
Su Hive il mio focus principale è sempre stato ed è aumentare il mio Hive Power perchè su Hive è la mia blockchain preferita e perchè sono tante le attività che mi piace fare su Hive:
- pubblicare contenuti sul mio Hive blot
- leggere i post degli altri autori di Hive
- commentare e interagire con gli altri autori di Hive
- supportare con i miei upvotes gli altri autori di Hive
- giocare agli Hive-based games
- supportare i progetti Hive-based che mi piacciono
- votare per le DHF proposals
- votare per i testimoni
- ....
Tutte le attività che ti ho elencato sono influenzate positivamente (anche se in modo diverso) dal mio Hive Power e per questo motivo voglio avere sempre più Hive Power.
Il token HBD ha 3 casi d'uso:

Oggi ho scelto di convertire i miei HBD liquidi in HIVE con l'obiettivo di fare un buon Power Up durante il prossimo Hive Power Up day (1 aprile 2025)
Ci sono diverse opzioni per convertire HBD in HIVE e in questo post ti mostro alcune opzioni per effettuare la conversione HBD->HIVE e ti mostro anche la mia scelta finale.
L'opzione più immediata e semplice per convertire HBD in HIVE è usare la funzionalità Convert presente in molti Hive wallet.
Questa opzione di conversione richiede 3.5 giorni ed è particolarmente vantaggiosa rispetto alla conversione immediata se:
