Vacation’s Over: Back to Battle in the Splinterlands Arena
Fifteen days have passed since my last post about Splinterlands on my Hive blog because I was on family holiday for 10 days.
My family holiday was very nice and very relaxing but now that it is over I have resumed my stressful work routine (unfortunately) but luckily there are Hive and Hive-based games to lighten my days.
Among the Hive-based games I play Splinterlands occupies an important role because I really like playing it even if only in the human-friendly game modes (Modern Format, Frontier Format, Brawls and Tournaments) because I don't like playing against bots.

My favourite game modes are three: Modern Format, Frontier Format and Brawls.
I would also like to play some tournaments, and if I will have more free time in the next days than I generally have, I will return to play in this game mode as well.
Back from my vacation I found some interesting news:
- the launch of the Gaming Recovery Fund
- the launch of the Arena Fanatic card for those who follow Splinterlands influencers on Twitch
- the announcement of a new SPS governance proposal regarding the launch of a new mini-set of cards.
I also really like the addition of the NEWS AND UPDATES section on the Splinterlands home page.
In this post I share my restart of my game activity and my progress in the Ranked Play modes starting with the new Frontier Mode in which I am having a lot of fun.
My FRONTIER Format Game Activity and Progress
The Frontier Mode was released on 29 July 2025 and I really like this format because:
- it's fun
- it reminds me of my beginnings on Splinterlands when cards were few, when there were only human players and when the incentive to play every day was the chests that initially only contained cards.
Even though I only started playing in the Frontier Format again on yesterday 26th August, I'm happy with the progress I've made because I'm in the Bronze I league (a league I've never been in before) and I also made a brief appearance in the Silver III league.
My game results improved mainly thanks to the legendary card Mystic Scaleweaver that I found inside a chest.
Using Mystic Scaleweaver in combination with the archon Marlai Singariel definitely improved my win rate.

Having a card with 3 magic attack points is a nice advantage in Frontier Format!
Having stopped playing in Frontier Format for 13 days didn't allow me to accumulate as many entries in the first Frontier Draw, but from now on I will try to accumulate as many entries as possible to increase my chances in the next Frontier Draws.
Today I was particularly lucky with my daily rewards because I found another legendary card: Great Bear Druid.
I now have two copies of Great Bear Druid and only need one more copy to upgrade to level 2.

My MODERN Format Game Activity and Progress
I enjoy playing in Frontier Mode but I also enjoy playing in the Modern Format because in these two formats there are only human players like me and no bots.
Playing against a bot equals 0 fun for me!
I only started playing in the Modern Format starting on 25 August.
I started in the Gold I league and am now in the Gold II league.
Although I have less than 4 days left before the end of the current season I will try to reach the Diamond III league even though it will not be an easy goal to achieve.
In the Modern Format I play with a card collection consisting of 356 cards (owned + soulbound) = 9034 BCX = 149500 CP which you can see from here -> My Modern Cards
In the previous season I played 257 battles and achieved 130 victories.
The Modern Format is also my main source of seasonal SPS token earnings.
In fact, in the season before this one, I earned 690.59 SPS thanks to my 130 battle victories in the Modern Format.

690.59 SPS equals 7008 DEC which I consider a very good result considering that I did not play during the last two days of the previous season.
My gaming results have improved since I added a second top level summoner to my summoners.
In fact, two seasons ago I rented Avina of the Wolf maximum level at a cost of 44.56 DEC per day.
In the next picture you can see the summoners I can use in Modern Format.
When I use Akane and Avina of the wolf in battle my win rate is very high.
When I cannot use them because their element is not selectable I almost always lose.
My seasonal SPS earnings allow me to make an additional rental of a top level summoner but at a not very high daily cost.
Today I rented another top level summoner because I found a rental cost of less than 50 DEC per day.
I rented Nomos level 8 for 19 days at a cost of 39.9 DEC per day.
With three summoners of the highest level and different elements, I should be able to improve my win rate and also my seasonal rewards.
I made this choice considering that I would only need one extra battle win per day thanks to Nomos to cover the daily rental cost and at the same time make a small extra profit.
In fact in my last battle win I gained 4.4 SPS which is worth 45,014 DEC which is a higher earning than the Nomos rental cost which is 39.9 DEC per day.
Thanks to the GLINT I received as end-of-season rewards I made progress on upgrading the Rebellion Reward Soulbound cards.
I spent 90000 GLINT to purchase 12 Epic Draw.
I have increased the level of two of my Epic cards including Arachne Weaver (level 4 -> level 5) which is a particularly versatile and useful card in battles.
My SURVIVAL Game Activity and Progress
I conclude this post by sharing my achievements and progress in Survival Mode.
In Surival Mode I use XBOT and therefore my holiday did not affect my game results.
In the last completed season XBOT played 132 battles for me.
With 70 wins I received 25K GLINT as an end-of-season reward.
I earned 131.32 SPS -20% = 105.05 SPS because there are XBOT fees to subtract from the earnings shown by Splinterstats
In the current season my results are better than my results in the previous season because XBOT played more battles and had more wins (100 wins VS 70 wins).
Personally I am much more interested in playing than earning SPS using XBOT and if it were up to me I would completely remove bots from Wild Format and Survival Mode but as long as there are bots in these formats I will also use bots and of course I will only use them as long as I am earning money.

Vacanze finite: si torna a combattere nell’Arena di Splinterlands
Sono passati 15 giorni dal mio ultimo post su Splinterlands perchè sono stato in vacanza con la mia famiglia per 10 giorni.
La mia vacanza è stata molto bella e molto rilassante ma adesso che è finita ho ripreso la mia stressante routine lavorativa (purtroppo) ma per fortuna ci sono Hive e gli Hive-based games ad alleggerire le mie giornate.
Tra gli Hive-based game a cui gioco Splinterlands occupa un ruolo importante perchè mi diverto molto a giocare anche se solo nelle modalità di gioco human-friendly (Modern Format, Frontier Format, Brawls e Tournaments) perchè non mi piace giocare contro i bots.

Le mie modalità di gioco preferite sono tre: Modern Format, Frontier Format e Brawls.
Mi piacerebbe giocare anche qualche torneo e se nei prossimi giorni avrò più tempo libero di quello che ho generalmente a disposizione ritornerò a giocare anche in questa modalità di gioco.
Di ritorno dalle mie vacanze ho trovato delle interessanti novità:
- il lancio del Gaming Recovery Fund
- il lancio della carta Arena Fanatic per chi segue gli Splinterlands influencers su Twitch
- l'annuncio di una nuova SPS governance proposal relativa al lancio di un nuovo mini-set di carte.

In questo post condivido la ripartenza della mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nelle modalità di gioco del Ranked Play iniziando dal nuovo Frontier Mode in cui mi sto divertendo molto.
La mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nel FRONTIER Format
Il Frontier Mode è stato rilasciato il 29 luglio 2025, ho iniziato subito a giocarci e questo formato mi piace molto perchè:
- è divertente
- mi ricorda i miei inizi su Splinterlands quando le carte erano poche, quando c'erano solo giocatori umani e quando l'incentivo per giocare ogni giorno erano i forzieri che inizialmente contenevano solo carte.
Anche se ho ripreso a giocare nel Frontier Format solo a partire da ieri 26 agosto sono contento dei progressi che ho fatto perchè sono nella lega Bronze I (lega mai raggiunta prima) e ho anche fatto una breve apparizione nella lega Silver III.
I miei risultati di gioco sono migliorati soprattutto grazie alla carta leggendaria Mystic Scaleweaver che ho trovato all'interno di un forziere.
Usare Mystic Scaleweaver in combinazione con l'archon Marlai Singariel ha decisamente migliorato il mio win rate.

Avere una carta con 3 punti di attacco magico è un bel vantaggio nel Frontier Format!
Avendo interrotto la mia attività di gioco nel Frontier Format per 13 giorni non mi ha permesso di accumulare tante entries nel primo Frontier Draw ma da oggi in poi cercherò di accumulare più entries possibili per aumentare le mie chances nei prossimi Frontier Draws.
Oggi sono stato particolarmente fortunato con le mie daily rewards perchè ho trovato un'altra carta leggendaria: Great Bear Druid.
Adesso ho due copie di Great Bear Druid e mi manca solo un'altra copia per fare l'upgrade al livello 2.

La mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nel MODERN Format
Mi diverto a giocare nel Frontier Mode ma mi diverto a giocare anche nel Modern Format perchè in questi due formati ci sono solo giocatori umani come me e non ci sono i bots.
Giocare contro un bot equivale a 0 divertimento per me!
Ho iniziato a giocare nel Modern Format solo a partire dal 25 agosto.
Sono partito dalla lega Gold I e adesso sono nella lega Gold II.
Anche se ho meno di 4 giorni a disposizione cercherò di raggiungere la lega Diamond III anche se non sarà un obiettivo facile da raggiungere.
Nel Modern Format gioco con una collezione di carte composta da 356 carte (owned + soulbound) = 9034 BCX = 149500 CP che puoi vedere da qui -> My Modern Cards
Nella stagione precedente ho giocato 257 battaglie e ho ottenuto 130 vittorie.
Il Modern Format è anche la mia principale fonte di guadagno stagionale dei token SPS.
Infatti nella stagione precedente a quella in corso ho guadagnato 690.59 SPS grazie alle mie 130 vittorie in battaglia nel Modern Format.

690.59 SPS equivalgono a 7008 DEC che considero un ottimo risultato dato che non ho giocato durante gli ultimi due giorni della stagione precedente.
I miei risultati di gioco sono migliorati da quando ho aggiunto un secondo evocatore di massimo livello ai miei evocatori.
Infatti due stagioni fa ho noleggiato Avina of the Wolf di massimo livello ad un costo di 44.56 DEC al giorno.
Nella prossima immagine puoi vedere gli evocatori che posso usare nel Modern Format.
Quando uso in battaglia Akane e Avina of the wolf il mio win rate è molto alto.
Quando non posso usarli perchè il loro elemento non è selezionabile perdo quasi sempre.
I miei guadagni in SPS stagionali mi permettono di fare un ulteriore noleggio di un evocatore di massimo livello ma ad un costo giornaliero non molto alto.
Oggi ho noleggiato un'altro evocatore di massimo livello perchè ho trovato un costo di noleggio inferiore a 50 DEC al giorno.
Ho noleggiato Nomos di livello 8 per 19 giorni ad un costo di 39.9 DEC al giorno.
Con tre evocatori di massimo livello e di elementi diversi dovrei riuscire a migliorare il mio win rate e anche le mie ricompense stagionali.
Ho fatto questa scelta considerando che mi basterebbe una vittoria in battaglia in più al giorno grazie a Nomos per coprire il costo di noleggio giornaliero ed ottenere allo stesso tempo un piccolo profitto in più.
Infatti nella mia ultima battaglia vinta ho guadagnato 4.4 SPS che valgono 45.014 DEC che è un guadagno superiore al costo di noleggio di Nomos che è di 39.9 DEC al giorno.
Grazie ai GLINT che ho ricevuto come ricompensa di fine stagione ho fatto dei progressi nell'upgrade delle carte Rebellion Reward Soulbound.
Ho speso 90000 GLINT per acquistare 12 Epic Draw.
Ho aumentato il livello di due mie carte Epiche tra cui Arachne Weaver (level 4 -> level 5) che è una carta particolarmente versatile e utile nelle battaglie.
La mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nel SURVIVAL Mode
Concludo questo post condividendo i miei risultati e i miei progressi nel Survival Mode.
Nel Surival Mode utilizzo XBOT e per questo motivo la mia vacanza non ha influito sui miei risultati di gioco.
Nell'ultima stagione conclusa XBOT ha giocato per me 132 battaglie.
Con 70 vittorie ho ricevuto 25K GLINT come ricompensa di fine stagione.
Ho guadagnato 131.32 SPS -20% = 105.05 SPS perchè ci sono le fees di XBOT da sottrarre dal guadagno mostrato da Splinterstats
Nella stagione in corso i miei risultati sono migliori rispetto ai miei risultati nella stagione precedente perchè XBOT ha giocato un numero maggiore di battaglie e ha ottenuto un numero maggiore di vittorie (100 wins VS 70 wins).
Personalmente sono molto più interessato a giocare che a guadagnare utilizzando XBOT e se fosse per me eliminerei completamente i bots dal Wild Format e dal Survival Mode ma fin quando ci saranno i bots in questi formati userò anche io i bots e ovviamente li userò solo fino a quando riceverò un guadagno.
